Occasionally, Yellowstone doesn’t hesitate to include unexpected appearances from well-known individuals. Ranging from high-profile celebrities like Bella Hadid to authentic Western icons, it wouldn’t be uncommon to spot a few familiar figures when you tune in again.
Yet, since this show revolves around cowboys and livestock, a notable pattern emerges by incorporating actual country musicians into the plot. At times, these artists perform their own music as part of the soundtrack, while on other instances, they even create unique characters for themselves within the storyline.
Throughout the span of five seasons on Yellowstone, a frequent guest performer has consistently captured audiences’ hearts more than any other, and that’s none other than Lainie Wilson. Luckily, we can expect to see more of her in the future.

At the 2025 Grammys, Wilson was questioned about a potential return to Yellowstone in future instalments. In response (through Country Music Nation), she expressed, “Well, we’ll have to wait and see. Taylor Sheridan is known for his unexpected twists and innovative ideas. If he were to call and suggest continuing the storyline, I’d be ready.
In the Sheridan series, Wilson portrayed Abby – a talented country singer who had a romantic connection with Ryan. Their bond deepened following her performance at a gathering on the Dutton Ranch. However, when Ryan was required to depart for Texas for an extended period, they bid each other farewell.
Yet, despite the ranch being sold and the workers being dismissed, there was a glimmer of hope towards the end. This came when Ryan found Abby in Texas, leading to their reunion.

It’s all fine and dandy, but let me clarify, Wilson won’t be part of Yellowstone’s future. In simpler terms, she’s not going to be there moving forward.
Three new series are being developed: “6666”, “The Madison”, and a show featuring Beth and Rip. Each of these shows will take place in contemporary times, but it’s unlikely that Abby will make an appearance unless Ryan becomes involved. Given that he’s the only person she has a strong bond with, this is a possibility.
Currently, you might find yourself enjoying repeated plays of the Yellowstone soundtrack until more updates become available.
