Lacari banned on Twitch & Kick after accidentally showing explicit files on notepad

Twitch streamer Lacari was banned from the platform after a brief display of controversial files during a livestream.

Lacari received a ban after unintentionally showing tabs in Notepad on January 22nd. The filenames on those tabs seemed to point to inappropriate and explicit material. He immediately closed the window while live streaming and later explained what happened on his broadcast.

Lacari explained that the files were downloaded accidentally while he was using a website, claiming automatic downloads and a problem with Windows were to blame. He then demonstrated deleting the file and running virus scans for his audience, and asked them to drop the matter.

While browsing a website, a file unexpectedly downloaded onto my computer. I didn’t initiate the download myself. When I opened the file, I saw its contents and immediately deleted it. However, it seems Windows 11 doesn’t completely remove the file even after deletion, according to Lacari, who shared this experience while streaming.

When a clip surfaced online, many popular streamers wondered how these files could have been exposed in the first place. One streamer, Quin69, even tried to recreate the issue on a Windows 11 computer by deleting files, but couldn’t find a way to make it happen.

Here’s an update regarding Lacari: He claims he deleted a text file containing disturbing content, but it still appeared on streamer Quin69’s screen. However, Quin69 tested this and proved it wasn’t due to a bug in Windows 11 – the claim is false.

Several of Lacari’s volunteer moderators have left his channel. One of them wrote a message saying they believed a recent issue was a serious error and were removing themselves from their moderator role and disassociating from Lacari as a result.
