Krysten Ritter, a well-known actress in Hollywood, will soon star in the new movie Stone Cold Fox, which is coming to Netflix in the new year. The film also features Kiernan Shipka and Kiefer Sutherland.
I’m really excited for January 9th! Netflix is dropping two new movies that day – I’ve been hearing buzz about Stone Cold Fox, which is especially cool because it’s Sophie Tabet’s first time directing a feature film. They’re also releasing a new adaptation of People We Meet On Vacation, so it’s going to be a good start to the year for movie lovers like me!
I have to say, I’m really into this 80s-style action thriller! While critics seem a bit divided – it’s sitting at 60% on Rotten Tomatoes – a lot of us who love this kind of movie are totally enjoying it, even with its over-the-top, cheesy story. It just works if you’re looking for some fun, retro action.
Set in the 1980s, Stone Cold Fox tells the story of Fox, who flees a dangerous and controlling commune. When the commune’s leader, Goldie – a powerful drug dealer – discovers Fox’s escape, she kidnaps Fox’s younger sister. Now, Fox must fight to save her sister from a terrible fate.
Riley Keough is currently appearing in the revival of Dexter: New Blood as Mia Lapierre and will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again. She’s also well-known for her work in Jessica Jones, Big Eyes, and Breaking Bad. Keough has a couple of other projects in the works, including Claire and Fuddy Meers.
Kiefer Sutherland plays Sergeant Billy Breaker, a corrupt police officer who assists Goldie, in the film Stone Cold Fox. He’s well-known for his roles in popular projects like 24, Phone Booth, and The Lost Boys. Following his appearance in the Christmas movie Tinsel Town, Sutherland has several upcoming films, including Hour of Reckoning, Sierra Madre, and Father Joe.
Kiernan Shipka shines in her latest movie role, even though the film itself has received mixed reactions. Many know her from her work as Sally Draper on Mad Men, as well as her appearances in Red One, Twisters, and as Sabrina Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Shipka has several upcoming projects, including roles in Industry and The Nowhere Game. She’s also set to appear in The Shitheads with Peter Dinklage, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, and Nicholas Braun.
Stone Cold Fox will be available to stream on Netflix on January 9.
