As a seasoned gamer and collector of all things Spider-Man, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation as I gaze upon the latest offerings in the virtual toy store that is the internet. The upcoming Kraven the Hunter film promises to be yet another chapter in Sony’s ongoing saga of Spidey villains, and while it remains to be seen if it’ll join the ranks of greatness or mediocrity, I’m already preordering the 4K Blu-ray. After all, one can never have too many Spider-Man films in their collection!
In theaters now is the newest installment in Sony’s series of Spider-Man films featuring villainous characters, titled Kraven the Hunter. It’s currently uncertain if it will surpass recent Spider-verse films like Madame Web and Morbius, but if you aim to expand your collection of Spider-Man movies, you can preorder the 4K Blu-ray version on Amazon and Walmart online.
In a reimagining of the renowned Spider-Man adversary, Kraven’s tale unfolds as he embarks on a vengeful journey, with deadly outcomes. This quest ultimately transforms him into the world’s most feared and respected hunter. The movie features Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the role of Kraven, while Russell Crowe portrays his relentless father, Nikolai Kravinoff.
To round off your Spider-Man DVD collection, consider adding a few more titles focused on Spider-Man’s associates. The standout picks are the Venom films starring Tom Hardy. The concluding chapter, “Venom: The Last Dance” will be released on Blu-ray on January 21, 2025 and is now available for preorder in various formats, including a 4K Steelbook edition. Currently, the first two films, “Venom” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” are on sale, with limited steelbook editions of both movies also available, as well as a double pack Blu-ray set that includes both films in one package. Alternatively, next year will see the release of the Venom 3-Movie 4K Collection box set containing all three films, which comes with a Venom action figure that might just be too tempting to resist, even when no one’s looking!

Sony’s upcoming live-action film Spider-Verse, which doesn’t feature Spider-Man, includes characters like Madame Web and Morbius – two films that have gained notoriety as internet memes after their release. Interestingly, Morbius had a second theatrical run due to the large number of people who went to see it, despite its poor reception. If you’re interested, both movies are currently on sale in Blu-ray format. You can get the 4K Limited Edition of Madame Web for $26 (originally $56), but this price will increase once all available stock at this price has been sold out. Alternatively, the standard 4K edition is also on sale for $25 (originally $46). As for Morbius, its 4K Blu-ray version is now selling for $19.49 (previously $31) on Amazon, while the standard Blu-ray version can be purchased for just $11.59 (originally $26).
