Okay, so KPop Demon Hunters is huge right now. Seriously, everyone’s trying to get costumes of the characters for Halloween, and they’re selling out everywhere! It’s kinda crazy that there’s a shortage right when you need them most for spooky season, but it just shows how popular the movie is.
KPop Demon Hunters has become Netflix’s biggest hit ever, achieving record viewership and even inspiring skits on Saturday Night Live.
With new Barbie toys coming from Mattel and a popular partnership with Fortnite, Netflix’s hit animated series is naturally a top pick for Halloween costumes this year.
Fans have been dressing up as the demon-fighting K-pop group from the movie, and with Halloween approaching, even more people – both kids and adults – are excited to create costumes as the pop stars or their villains, the Saja Boys.

It’s looking tough to find one right now, as costumes based on KPop Demon Hunters are currently sold out in many places.
Spirit Halloween sells out of KPop Demon Hunters costumes
The reason for the shortage? The movie’s become incredibly popular, and people want the costumes more than there are available. Actually, the most popular Halloween costumes people are searching for on Google are all characters from KPop Demon Hunters – Rumi, Zoey, Mira, Jinu, and Baby Saja are the top five.
People could always create their own costumes, but many fans really wanted the official outfits sold at Spirit Halloween, which were sponsored by Netflix. Unfortunately, Spirit Halloween didn’t receive enough of the costumes to meet the high demand from customers hoping to wear them for Halloween.

Netflix recognized the popular trend of fans dressing as characters from its shows this Halloween. They even put up a billboard thanking fans and playfully referencing the song ‘Golden’ by artist Huntrix, which recently reached the Top 100 on the Billboard charts.
According to Spirit Halloween representative Marisa Simonson, the popular Halloween decorations sold out quickly because they were released in limited amounts and proved to be very popular with customers, as she told Business Insider.

Okay, so the official costumes are sold out, but honestly, I’m still seeing tons of amazing, fan-made KPop Demon Hunter costumes popping up online as Halloween gets closer! It’s awesome to see everyone getting creative.
Cosplayers are already creating amazing costumes inspired by the movie’s characters. One example is a TikTok user who gained popularity by crafting a detailed outfit for Derpy, Jinu’s blue tiger companion, featuring moving eyes and a tongue that could move.
