Over the weekend, “Captain America: Brave New World” caused a significant upheaval at the South Korean box office by taking over as the leading movie. This Marvel production made a powerful entrance and seized control with an impressive market share, causing “Hitman 2,” which had been holding strong, to slide in the rankings.
“The movie ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ kicked off with earnings of approximately KRW5.91 billion ($4 million), making up about 62.2% of the overall market share during its debut weekend. This action-packed superhero film drew in a total of 583,851 viewers and grossed around $5.5 million, as reported by Kobis, which is a service run by the Korean Film Council.”
Over the past weekend, I found myself in the second spot among musical romances, with “Secret: Untold Melody” earning $543,509. This represented around 8.3% of the market share. Compared to last week, we saw a drop of 42.2%, which meant that only 78,241 people chose to watch it. However, these viewings added to our previous total, bringing our grand sum to a remarkable $4.7 million so far.
In terms of earnings over the weekend, ‘Hitman 2’ moved down to the third spot, bringing in $461,619, which equates to 7% of the total market share. To date, its action-comedy sequel has accumulated a gross revenue of $16 million.”
Or, more concisely:
“Over the weekend, ‘Hitman 2’ earned $461,619, accounting for 7% of the total market share as part of its growing $16 million gross revenue from its action-comedy sequel.
In the anime rankings, “Detective Conan: The 14th Target” climbed up to the fourth spot, bringing in a total of $275,110 after earning an additional $244,131. Meanwhile, “The Substance” maintained its position in fifth place, raking in another $145,733 and amassing a grand total of $3.2 million.
Moving further along the graph, “Dark Nuns” ranked sixth with a total of $133,101. This horror-thriller has since amassed an additional $11 million in earnings.
As a passionate cinema enthusiast, I was thrilled to see the animation “Elli and Her Monster Team” make its debut at the seventh spot, earning a whopping $95,549. But the real surprise came when the critically acclaimed film “The Brutalist” followed closely behind in eighth place, raking in an impressive $109,843 during its opening weekend. What a fantastic start for both movies!
Tarsem Singh’s movie “The Fall” maintained its position at the ninth spot this week, earning an additional $90,621, raising its overall income to a remarkable $999,574.
To complete the list of top ten films, a fresh release of “500 Days of Summer” garnered $54,975 during its opening weekend, boosting its overall earnings to a total of $1.7 million.
