Hideo Kojima, the acclaimed writer and director, will be lending his voice to the Japanese dub of Disney’s Zootopia 2. He’s playing the character Paul Moldebrandt, a mole.
Hideo Kojima revealed to Famitsu that Jared Bush, the director of Zootopia 2, specifically requested him to voice a character in the Japanese dub of the hit Disney movie, which is currently performing very well in theaters.
Zootopia 2 has already grossed over $560 million worldwide, with a significant portion of that – around $270 million – coming from China. China is currently the film’s largest market by a wide margin, outpacing even the combined earnings from the US and Canada, which total $158.8 million.
The animated film Zootopia will be released in Japan this Friday, December 5th. A short preview of Hideo Kojima’s voice work in the Japanese version is available below. In the US version of Zootopia 2, Paul Moldebrandt is voiced by Josh Gad, known for his roles in Disney films like Frozen and Beauty and the Beast.
