Knight’s Path is coming to PC via Steam with the first gameplay trailer published

Jan Tichota and Aamn Chahrour just released the first gameplay trailer for their new game, Knight’s Path. This medieval fantasy action RPG is being developed by the two-person indie team and will be available on PC through Steam.

The game is set in a fantasy world reminiscent of the Holy Roman Empire. You’ll play as Alryk, who begins as an untrained fighter but becomes more skilled through training and learning. Expect exciting events like tournaments and castle battles, and remember that your decisions will shape Alryk’s reputation and fate within the kingdom.

Just so you know, a free demo of Knight’s Path: The Tournament has been available on Steam since late 2023. This demo shows off some of the initial concepts the team developed. They’ve also created a separate Steam page for the complete game, which is coming soon.

The team behind Knight’s Path has explained how they used AI during development. Although their Steam page includes an AI disclosure, they state that AI was only used for initial ideas and to help with writing. They emphasize that no actual game content – like art or music – was created using AI.

I’m so excited for Knight’s Path! I just checked out the official trailer, screenshots, and game description, and it looks amazing. And the best part? It’ll be fully in English with voice acting, but they’re also adding subtitles in a ton of other languages – French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese! Knight’s Path is an action RPG with a compelling story, set in a realistic fantasy world reminiscent of the Holy Roman Empire. The combat system draws inspiration from real historical fighting styles, using authentic movements and techniques. While aiming for realism, we’ve made some adjustments to keep fights fun and rewarding. Battles are strategic and impactful, focusing on well-timed attacks, smart positioning, blocking, riposting, and accurate weapon handling. You won’t find quick, unrealistic maneuvers here – every action, from a strike to a step, has a purpose and feels meaningful.

Your growth in the game is directly linked to how well you fight. You start as a complete beginner, and Alryk’s movements reflect that – he’s clumsy and unrefined. As you practice, make mistakes, and learn from instructors, his skills steadily improve. You’ll visually see his fighting style change and become more polished over time, until he truly earns the title of swordsman through dedication and effort.

The armor in Knight’s Path isn’t just for show – it’s realistic, historically accurate, and shows how important status and defense were. You start completely unprotected, easily defeated, and gradually improve your gear, moving from basic padding to strong, nearly unbreakable plate armor. Each upgrade feels significant, making your progress feel natural and satisfying. You can also learn a lot about your opponents just by looking at their armor and how they fight, which makes battles easier to understand and more engaging.

Discover a detailed medieval world filled with villages, forests, fields, caves, castles, and the bustling city of Eranthold.
