Kingdom Come: Deliverance Returns This September With Official New Release

Later this year, Warhorse Studios will release a new art book featuring a lot of images from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a popular historical RPG last year, even earning a Game of the Year nomination at The Game Awards 2025, and fans appreciate its accurate and detailed portrayal of medieval Bohemia.

Dark Horse Books will release a stunning 384-page art book, The Art of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, on September 15, 2026. The book offers a behind-the-scenes look at the development of KCD2, featuring hundreds of sketches, concepts, and insights. It details the creation of the game’s beautiful Bohemian landscapes and the historically accurate city of Kuttenberg. The hardcover edition is priced at $69.99 and will be available at various retailers and online bookstores.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Will Return In September

Don’t expect Warhorse Studios’ next game anytime soon. It took seven years to create the sequel to their first game, and they spent the rest of 2025 releasing downloadable content for it. Considering how much research and effort goes into their games, we’ll probably be waiting a while. However, The Art of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 looks like a fantastic companion book in the meantime.

This beautifully produced hardcover book measures 9×12 inches and features 384 full-color pages. It includes a foreword by Daniel Vávra, the director and lead writer of both Kingdom Come: Deliverance games, and an afterword by Martin Klima, Head of Development at Warhorse Studios and Executive Producer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The book’s description suggests a comprehensive look at the entire development process, showcasing everything from initial sketches to detailed concept art of the game’s characters, environments, and objects.

Fans Of The Game Shouldn’t Miss This

With 384 pages, this art book offers a huge collection of artwork and a fascinating look behind the scenes of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s development. The game is known for its detailed and historically accurate world, as shown in its in-game encyclopedia, so the developers’ notes at the beginning and end of the book should be particularly insightful. While the book is more expensive than the game was at launch, it seems like a worthwhile purchase for fans of KCD2.

Waiting for Warhorse’s next game – whether it’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance 3 or something entirely new – will be challenging. Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its sequel have stepped in to offer the kind of immersive RPG experience that Bethesda’s games once provided, but with a much more realistic and demanding style. Developing these types of RPGs is incredibly difficult, and it’s unlikely another game will capture the same feeling until Warhorse releases its next title. Fans of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can look forward to an art book later this year, though it’s not quite the full game they were hoping for.
