In case you didn’t know already, let me reiterate: Bohemia is a haven for romantics. The upcoming Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 boasts an array of relationship possibilities, from brief encounters to deep connections, and the best part is that navigating these romantic avenues isn’t overly complicated. In fact, sometimes it’s as simple as choosing dialogue options that are distinctly flirtatious.
In the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it seems most players appreciate the freedom it offers, even for a game set in the 15th century. Unlike many other games, you’re not confined to just one romance. If flirting and courting across the Czech countryside sounds like an adventure worthy of Casanova, then go for it! Just remember that Henry has a girlfriend, Theresa, waiting back home. What happens in Kuttenberg, stays in Kuttenberg, after all.
If you’re in search of love and victory in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 world, fear not! We’ve got your romance strategies covered. Dive into this guide to unravel the secrets of winning hearts within the game.
How to romance Klara
In King’s Crown II, Klara was my first romantic encounter, and if anyone doubts the simplicity of it, I managed to win her heart almost by happenstance. She serves as the healer and herbalist at Nebakov Fortress, a place you visit with Hans during the Back in the Saddle quest.
After finishing your duel with Adjutant Michael for Lord Capon’s honor, feel free to chat with her (Klara). She’ll be there to help you bandage your wounds. Whether you decide to flirt or keep things straightforward in the conversation, it won’t impact the progression of the romantic storyline. I told you it wasn’t hard to understand.
After she finishes preparing you, she might request your assistance in finding herbs hidden within the forest. Go ahead and agree, follow her to a clearing, share stories of valorous knights along the path, and pick the herbs she indicates. They should be easily identifiable once she guides you to the correct location.
In this scenario, there seems to be a mission or task called “Klara’s quest.” It appears that the first time you attempted it, you may have taken too long gathering herbs, which gave Henry an opportunity to leave for another destination (Capon). As a result, you were unable to complete Klara’s quest. To avoid making the same mistake, make sure you act swiftly when tackling this task.
After acquiring the herbs, Klara will guide you to an open space where she’ll pose a puzzle for you. If you choose the answer “She might be named Klara,” then, voila, Henry will have been successfully identified.
Hold on, let me elaborate further. Klara’s romantic storyline unfolds at a later stage in the game, specifically during “The Finger of God” quest. In this part of the narrative, Henry and his companions, among them Klara, find themselves under siege within Nebakov Fortress.
Outside Nebakov’s dungeons, Klara is engaged in a dispute with the guards. She insists on being allowed entry to treat the wounded foes you have captured. If you manage to pass a test of eloquence, you can intervene and secure her access. Alternatively, she will eventually retreat to her hut, where she’ll request your assistance in nursing your own injured men – Mark, Kozliek, and Zwerk.
In my gaming adventure, I dash towards Klara’s abode uphill and rummage through a chest nestled on her upper floor for the hidden flask. Once retrieved, I swiftly make my descent, hastening my steps towards those in need, now lying wounded at the foot of the slope.
To heal Mark, you’ll need to:
- Clean his wounds with the schnapps
- Bandage him up
Furthermore, it seems that this medical profession isn’t as challenging as some might think, right? There are indeed other paths you could take, though they aren’t compulsory. Given the possibility of encountering difficulties with certain skill assessments, it might be wise to consider alternative options for now.
To heal Kozliek:
- Clean his wounds with the schnapps
- Cauterize him using gunpowder
- Give him clean bandages
- Give him a digestive potion
And, finally, to heal Zwerk:
- Clean his wounds with the schnapps
- Bandage him up
- Rub Chamomile on his ankle
- Give him a Saviour Schnapps for the road
You’re just like Florence Nightingale, always helping others. Now, return to Klara and share the positive update. Afterward, you can pick either of these lines for your next move: “I don’t think we’ll be going for a walk today,” or “How about we grab a drink instead?” The first one might be simpler.
When you finish your quests around Nebakov, go to bed in Klara’s cabin and she’ll join you.
How to romance Katherine
Katherine is as complicit as Zizka in mischief, and flirting with her isn’t significantly more difficult than wooing Klara. Your early encounters with her, particularly in Troskowicz and Trosky Castle, don’t carry much weight, so you don’t need to stress about ruining your chances if you initially struggle with reputation management.
Note, however, that seeing this romance through will prevent you from romancing Hans Capon.
In other words, you could make every interaction with her pleasant and playful, but what truly counts are the two sub-tasks or missions.
Initially, we encounter the Fifth Commandment. This particular task unfolds when you reach Kuttenberg, a place where Katherine is employed at a local tavern. Her urgent request involves your assistance in locating a ruthless murderer who has been targeting young women within the city.
What truly counts is finishing the mission, regardless of the method you choose. The specifics of how you accomplish it don’t matter much. You can either apprehend the culprit and deliver them to the bailiff or let Katherine take matters into her own hands as a vigilante. Regardless of your choice, it won’t affect your ability to win her heart later on.
In your upcoming adventure, a significant sub-mission awaits – The Stalker. This quest is obtained when Katherine is disguised as a maid at Sigismund’s Camp. She finds herself in a precarious situation with an unsettling character taking interest in her. It falls upon Henry to intervene and resolve the issue.
Be certain to complete this task prior to wrapping up The Lion’s Den main quest, or else you’ll forfeit the chance to do so later on.
An effortless approach would be to succeed in the Houndmaster’s dialogue test, where the phrase “Mutt will sniff him out” is used. Katherine will then hand over a shoe for Mutt to scent, guiding you directly to the criminal’s tent. If Mutt isn’t present, simply wait by Katherine’s tent and catch the stalker as they emerge at night.
After locating him, there are several options to make him stop bothering Katherine: You could persuade him verbally or use an intimidation tactic, offer a 200 gold piece bribe, or physically confront him. Once you’ve dealt with him, return to Katherine to complete the quest.
If you’ve completed everything, terrific! Now let’s jump straight to the central storyline “Hunger and Despair”. When it’s time for goodbyes with everyone, choose the option “I’ll bring aid, and things will be okay again” (marked with a romantic symbol) with Katherine. Proceed with the quest as usual. Just before you leave Suchdol, there will be a heartwarming moment shared between Katherine and Henry.
How to romance Rosa
Rosa is the scholarly heir of Kuttenberg’s leading financial family. Fortunately, you have the opportunity to court her without burning bridges with others, if you fancy yourself as a charming ladies’ man.
Begin your adventure while the romance unfolds during the French Leave mission. Ascend the stairs and engage in conversation with her prior to visiting Maleshov. She will then reveal a hidden passageway and offer you a side quest called Rosa’s Book. Your task is to retrieve a valuable tome from the fortress on her behalf.
The book that she wants you to retrieve is titled “A Collection of Amusing Stories” and can be found on the second level of Maleshov Fortress tower, near the window in Lady Ofka’s chamber. Be sure to pick it up and take a quick glance at it immediately because you won’t have another opportunity during this main quest outside of this specific instance.
Once you’ve completed Taking French Leave and rescued Capon, return the book to Rosa.
Tell Rosa “I perused it” and you’ll get three possible speech checks:
- [Scholarship] “The writing style seemed familiar”
- [Charisma] “The author really isn’t holding back”
- [Persuasion] “What do you like about it?”
No matter what decision you make, you’ll find out that Rosa authored the book all by herself and is seeking assistance to complete it.
In Rosa’s room, ask her to make the book about “A woman” and to “Make her courageous.”
The romance is temporarily paused until the event of Dancing with the Devil, where Rosa is held captive in Maleshov tower. It’s crucial not to select the dialogue option “There’s no other way. We’re burning the tower.” As it turns out, women tend to dislike being set on fire. Strange, isn’t it?
Advance to the Oratores’ mission, and kindly propose helping Rosa cross the water as we sneak into Ruthard Manor during our infiltration.
As your quest progresses later, after you’ve dealt with the bandits, engage in conversation with Rosa. Select these particular dialogue choices then:
In the subsequent phase of your adventure post-bandit elimination, interact with Rosa and opt for these specific dialogue selections:
- “It’ll be alright.”
- “Allies are our most valuable asset.”
- “Maybe it won’t be necessary.”
Afterward, you will be presented with a time-constrained decision point. At this juncture, opt for the romantic gesture of kissing Rosa. In essence, love personified, Henry you are.
How to romance Hans Capon
As far as I’m concerned, there’s only one right romantic choice in KCD2, and fortunately, the game makes it ridiculously clear. Just remember to pick every dialogue option that has a heart icon when it becomes available. You’ll spot the initial one at Trosky castle, not long after you rescue Hans from the gallows.
Before departing the castle at the game’s conclusion during a time of scarcity and sorrow, don’t forget to bid farewell to Hans. In an uneasy manner, he may recount a story about two knights who appeared to be more than just companions. Reply with “We share many similarities with them,” then opt for a goodbye kiss.
Then congratulate yourself on bagging a rich guy.
How to romance Margaret
In most games, it’s likely that you won’t encounter Margaret often. So, don’t forget to visit the mill located southwest of Bylany on the second map as soon as you can.
Upon arrival, you’ll find Margaret calling out for aid, trapped inside a locked barn. Set her free first, and subsequently address the matter with the miller.
After she disappears, you can locate Margaret once more, pleading at the crossroads where Pschitoky, Miskowitz, Bylany, and Kuttenberg intersect. Listen to what she has to say without resorting to confrontational dialogue choices.
After learning about Margaret’s tale, you’ll find yourself with the chance to provide her with the necessary funds directly. However, I advise against it. Instead, to win her heart, assist Margaret in her plan to extort money from the merchant named Latsek.
Carry on with the task until it concludes, ensuring you strictly adhere to Margaret’s directions. At the end, she’ll propose a kiss. Go ahead and accept, as this will lead to spending the night together. However, be aware that she will take 250 groschen from you for the experience, which you’ll consider a worthwhile expense.
Quick Flings
In addition to the romantic encounters you’ve already encountered in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there are also several fleeting romantic opportunities that you can explore throughout the gameplay.
In medieval society, the bathhouse attendants often served dual roles as providers of certain services. If you choose to avail of these services while bathing (indicated by the heart icon), it rewards you with the “Time Well Spent” bonus, increasing your Strength, Vigor, and Vitality by +1, much like any other romantic encounter would.
In addition to exploring Kuttenberg, you can also develop a special relationship with one bathhouse maid named Lousy Mary. Despite her uninviting name, she’s quite friendly. During your journey Into the Underworld, take the opportunity to converse with Mary about Goatskin’s location. She may invite you for a drink; accept her invitation. When she suggests a cozy moment together later, respond enthusiastically by saying, “Let’s make it happen!
The first romantic moment in the game is likely during the Wedding Crashers mission. During this wedding, a shy woman named Doubravka’s mother will request you to ask her for a dance since she’s not very outgoing on the dance floor.
Follow the quest and make your way to Doubravka. After that, propose a dance with her using the appropriate dialogue prompt. Later in the night, converse with her again, and she might suggest a private spot for continued conversation (it’s worth noting that it’s more amusing when you use the dialogue option where Henry gracefully declines by sharing a story about being kicked by a horse).
During the festivities in For Victory, you have the option of two romantic encounters: the knight Black Bartosch or the Widow Johanka. Spend an enchanting night with either one!
To flirt with Bartosch, discuss the attractive women at the gathering with him. If he shows disinterest, respond by saying, “I believe I understand your hint,” followed by, “Would you prefer to spend the remainder of the night together?
To win over Johanka, converse with her more, and use the dialogue options that seem most fitting when narrating your heroic deeds. Subsequently, if she invites you for an outing, select the option “I believe I can persuade you” when presented.
