Kiefer Sutherland’s new thriller, Stone Cold Fox, released in 2025, is quickly becoming popular with streaming viewers. The film, directed by Sophie Tabet and featuring Kiernan Shipka, Karen Fukuhara, Jamie Chung, and Krysten Ritter, centers around a woman who flees an abusive religious group and is pursued by a corrupt police officer. She then goes undercover, risking everything to rescue her sister who remains inside the commune.
The movie Stone Cold Fox had a quiet release in theaters on November 7, 2025, and didn’t perform well at the box office. It received a 60% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, while audiences gave it a 57% score. Now streaming on Netflix in the U.S., the film is surprisingly gaining popularity and has become a bit of a hidden gem. Currently, Stone Cold Fox is the 5th most popular movie on Netflix in the U.S.
Right now, People We Meet on Vacation is the most popular title on Netflix, both globally and in the United States. In the U.S. movie charts today, Soul on Fire is second, The Bad Guys is third, and Lone Survivor is fourth – all ahead of Stone Cold Fox. However, the new film starring Kiefer Sutherland is gaining popularity faster than KPop Demon Hunters, Evil Influencer, Just Go With It, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Pitch Perfect.
Actor Sutherland, who has had the most established career of anyone in Stone Cold Fox, is well-known for his roles in 24, Phone Booth, and Melancholia. More recently, he’s appeared in Tinsel Town, Juror #2, Rabbit Hole, The First Lady, Designated Survivor, and Flatliners. He’s also won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on the series 24.
I’m really excited about Stone Cold Fox on Netflix, and I think it has a great chance of becoming a hit! A lot of the actors have starred in other popular shows, which will definitely bring people in. Plus, some of them are already Netflix favorites, meaning subscribers already know and love them. Take Kiernan Shipka, who plays the lead – she was amazing in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, so I know a lot of people will tune in to see what she does here!
Shipka is recognized for her roles in shows like Longlegs and Mad Men, as well as the film Red One. Krysten Ritter is well-known for playing Jessica Jones on Netflix, and she also appeared in Breaking Bad and Don’t Trust the B In Apartment 23. Jamie Chung has notably starred in Big Hero 6, Gotham, and The Gifted. Karen Fukuhara is known for her work in The Boys, Suicide Squad, Bullet Train, and The Boy and the Heron.
Despite not receiving great reviews, Stone Cold Fox has the potential to become more popular on Netflix as viewers who enjoy the actors and this type of story find aspects they appreciate.
