Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson are set to star in the Christmas comedy “Tinsel Town.”
Currently, the movie is being filmed on various locations throughout the Northern parts of England and at Versa Studios in Leeds, under the banner of Sky and Future Artists Entertainment.
As a movie enthusiast, I find myself stepping into the shoes of Bradley Mack, once a towering figure in Hollywood’s action realm, but now finding my career crashing down around me due to an unexpected cancellation of my iconic franchise. With a sinking feeling that my days as a Tinseltown titan might be numbered, I seek refuge in the tranquil embrace of England, hoping to redefine myself as a serious actor on the West End stage. However, my persistent agent has different ideas, sending me instead to a quaint, snow-covered village to spearhead their peculiar rendition of ‘Cinderella.’ Navigating rehearsals alongside an eclectic troupe of local eccentrics, I gradually uncover a glimmer of fresh opportunities in the form of no-nonsense choreographer Jill (Wilson).
The script for this production has been written by Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown, and Piers Ashworth, with extra content from Jake Brunger. Chris Foggin (“Bank of Dave”) will handle the direction, while Matt Williams and Pascal Degove at FAE will produce. Julia Stuart, Laura Grange, Piers Tempest, and Martin Owen serve as executive producers.
Sutherland expressed his excitement about returning to work in the UK and collaborating with director Chris Foggin. He finds the cast exceptional, and he’s eager to share this narrative,” stated Sutherland.
Wilson stated, “I adore British Christmas films; since we Australians are usually grilling on the beach instead, this feels like experiencing an authentic British Christmas – cold to the bone yet filled with laughter and joyous sled rides!
The production and development of “Tinsel Town” were undertaken jointly by Sky and Future Artists Entertainment. Mister Smith Entertainment plans to initiate global distribution during the forthcoming European Film Market.
Julia Stuart, Head of Original Films at Sky, expressed her excitement about an upcoming heartwarming and delightful comedy coming to Sky Cinema this Christmas. She described it as a joyous, seasonal, and humorous piece, hoping that it will offer something enjoyable for everyone.
Matt Williams from Future Artists Entertainment commented: “We’re continuing our long-standing successful partnership with Sky in bringing top British artists both in front of and behind the camera. I am incredibly excited to bring this laugh-out-loud, heartwarming Christmas Comedy to the screen. ‘Tinsel Town’ is set to become a classic Christmas film, and I am overjoyed that we have assembled such a brilliant cast headed by Kiefer Sutherland and Rebel Wilson.
“Tinsel Town” will be coming to Sky Cinema at Christmas 2025.
