I’ve been following this case for a while now, and it’s been wild. It all started with Joe Carroll, a serial killer, and his followers kidnapping his ex-wife’s son to spread his twisted message. I remember when Hardy came back to help catch him! Then, in Season 2, Hardy’s niece joined the hunt after Carroll pretended to be dead. But Season 3 really threw us for a loop – a new killer, Theo Nobel, emerged, and honestly, he was even more disturbing than Carroll. It just kept getting darker and more intense!
Across its three seasons, The Following has received an average approval rating of 58%. Both the first and third seasons scored 63%, while the second season was less well-received with a 50% rating. Viewers as a whole gave the series a 66% rating.
Kevin Williamson, the creator of shows like The Vampire Diaries and the writer behind the Scream franchise (including the upcoming Scream 7), also created The Following. The series starred Kevin Bacon as the main character, Ryan Hardy, alongside Jeananne Goosen, Shawn Ashmore, Annie Parisse, Nico Tortorella, and Natalia Zea.
