Kenworth, the truck maker, is asking its fans to support a project that could turn one of its famous semi trucks into an official LEGO set.
On January 19th, the company asked its followers on X (formerly Twitter) to vote for a Kenworth W900 truck design that someone submitted to LEGO Ideas. The post included a link to the design and encouraged people to help it get enough votes for LEGO to consider making it a real set.
The Kenworth W900 LEGO model was proposed in November 2025 and has quickly earned over 2,200 supporters. To move forward, projects need 5,000 votes, and LEGO officially considers designs for production once they reach 10,000 supporters.

How the Kenworth W900 LEGO idea works
This creation, submitted by KnightBubblySoup101, is a model of the classic long-nose Kenworth W900 semi-truck. The builder designed it as a tribute to truckers and wanted to accurately recreate the truck’s appearance and details.
This model truck features a classic long hood and a grille inspired by the W900. It’s designed with working doors and a hood, plus realistic details like dual rear axles and vertical exhaust pipes. A key feature is its functional fifth wheel, allowing it to connect to trailers. The creator paid close attention to details both inside and outside, aiming to accurately recreate the truck’s lights, mirrors, and overall size.
Once this project gains 10,000 supporters, LEGO will officially review it. LEGO designers will check if it’s possible to build, if it needs any licenses, and if people would actually want to buy it. However, most projects submitted to LEGO Ideas don’t end up becoming actual LEGO sets you can purchase in stores.
The Kenworth W900 project still has over 500 days before it needs to hit its next support goal, as of January 20, 2025.
Earlier this January, LEGO introduced a new way to play with its classic bricks. The “SMART Play” platform adds lights and sounds to the building experience, all without needing any screens.
