Kelly Ripa Breaks Silence on Mark Consuelos Keeping Scream 7’s Ghostface Secrets

Despite recent issues and changes to the team, the show is confirmed to feature returning characters loved by fans. It will also welcome new faces, such as talk show host Mark Consuelos.

Mark Consuelos recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa, who co-hosts Live With Kelly & Mark with him. They discussed the upcoming Scream 7 movie, but Consuelos’s role is being kept secret – even from Ripa! She playfully suggested during the interview that he might be the killer, because he’s refusing to reveal any details.

Mark Consuelos shared that his new role has made him a hero to his son, Michael, who’s a big fan of the series. He said, ‘My 28-year-old son thinks this is the coolest job I’ve ever taken – maybe the most impressive thing I’ve ever done!’

He explained that he’s planning to have a copy of the script beautifully bound in leather as a gift, but wants to wait until after it’s released. He doesn’t want to ruin the surprise or let the recipient know about it in advance.

Ripa playfully mentioned that Consuelos is very careful about keeping secrets at work, especially when something is confidential. She admitted she has no clue what role he’s playing or who the murderer is on the show – he hasn’t told her anything! He’s extremely secretive, but she often jokes that he might actually be the killer.

After several cast members left the franchise, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox are set to return as Sydney Prescott and Gale Weathers. But they won’t be alone – David Arquette, and Scott Foley are also coming back, even though their characters previously died. It’s currently unknown how their returns will be explained.

The plot of Scream 7 centers around Sidney Prescott, who has tried to create a peaceful life for herself and her daughter. However, when a new Ghostface killer appears, her daughter becomes the target, forcing Sidney to confront her traumatic past and fight to protect her family and stop the cycle of violence.

Scream 7 Would’ve Turned Sam Carpenter Into Ghostface

According to Skeet Ulrich, who stars in the Scream franchise, the initial plans for Scream 7 were different before Melissa Barrera was let go.

The actor originally played Billy Loomis, one of the killers behind the Ghostface mask in the first ‘Scream’ movie from 1996. He came back for the 2022 reboot, where it was revealed that Sam Carpenter, the new main character, was Billy’s daughter. Even though his character was already dead, he appeared to her in dreamlike visions.

He recently stated he won’t be returning for Scream 7. He explained that when he agreed to reprise his role for Scream 5, the plan was for his character, Billy Loomis, to gradually influence his daughter to become a killer over three films. This confirms a long-held fan belief that Sam would eventually become Ghostface.
