Fans are getting a sneak peek at what’s happening with the next movie! Ruby Roundhouse and Jack Black’s character, Shelly Oberon, are back filming, and it’s the fourth installment in the series that originally starred Robin Williams in 1995.
Recent photos posted on X show Karen Gillan filming outdoors in a wintery setting with Christmas decorations. This suggests the next “Jumanji” movie will involve the characters from the game world entering the real world. One thing that remains consistent from previous films is Gillan’s character’s revealing outfit, which she seems comfortable wearing despite the cold weather.
Before the movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle came out, some people criticized the revealing outfit worn by Karen Gillan’s character, not understanding its significance. Gillan addressed the criticism in 2016, hinting that the small clothes were intentional. Even after the reason behind the outfit was explained in the film, some viewers still complained when Jumanji: The Next Level was released.
Jack Black’s outfit didn’t cause any issues, and he’s back to his classic look with a suit and pith helmet. He even posed in a photo with Karen Gillan and her daughter, Clementine, who was born in late 2024. Though Clementine won’t be appearing in the movie, we can anticipate seeing more pictures of other cast members like Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart as filming progresses. The ‘Jumanji’ Franchise Has Taken Quite a While With Its New Movie

It’s been six years since Jumanji: The Next Level came out in 2019, and for a while it looked like we wouldn’t get another movie. But late last year, a new Jumanji film was officially announced, with a release date of December 11, 2026.
Details about what happens in the newest movie are still a secret, but fans are encouraged to enjoy it fully when it’s released, as it will be the final chapter in the series for these characters. When production began, Dwayne Johnson announced:
We’re officially starting production on the next Jumanji movie! We had our first table read in Los Angeles, where we’ll be filming, and it was a blast. It feels like the perfect way to end the franchise – with a heartwarming and fun adventure. It was incredible to have everyone back together, and we were all laughing so much our faces hurt! We realized how much we’ve missed this kind of joyful experience, and we’re excited to make a great film.
The next Jumanji movie is coming out in December, but it’s facing tough competition. It will be released just a week before two huge films, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part 3. With so many big movies coming out around the holidays, it will be interesting to see how well Jumanji 4 performs in its first week before the major box office battle begins on December 18, 2026.
