Even though many exciting book-to-screen adaptations are coming this year, the legal issues between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are still ongoing and will be addressed in court this May. As they prepare for trial, some older statements made by Baldoni about Lively have recently come to light.
So, back in October, while giving a deposition for the It Ends With Us movie, Justin Baldoni – who stars in and directed it – started talking about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ amazing home office. Apparently, it’s in their New York City penthouse, and it really stuck with him. He had some thoughts on it, and here’s what he said…
She playfully nicknamed her office ‘Buckingham Palace‘ because so many famous people visited. Ms. Lively specifically asked that all our meetings be held there, in her penthouse apartment.
People magazine recently obtained a deposition transcript revealing that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have a playful nickname for her home office. Apparently, it’s filled with so many souvenirs and mementos from her acting career that it’s become quite famous between the two of them.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds move in high-profile circles, counting stars like Taylor Swift, Hugh Jackman, and Gigi Hadid among their friends. Beyond their acting careers, they’re also successful entrepreneurs. Reynolds owns a marketing company called Maximum Effort, and together they’ve invested in ventures like Wrexham AFC, a Welsh football club, plus numerous brand partnerships.
When Justin Baldoni made his statements, he was still involved in a legal battle with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. A month later, the court dismissed his countersuit. His lawyer stated they would continue to fight for justice using all available legal options and hoped to present their case in court. This countersuit stemmed from a lawsuit filed by Lively, which accused Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios of sexual harassment and retaliation.
Beyond the statements about Buckingham Palace, Blake Lively’s home office in New York City has been mentioned several times during the legal case. A recently revealed email from the lawsuit also claims that Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman saw Ryan Reynolds scold Baldoni for making negative comments about Blake Lively’s body while they were all working on the movie It Ends With Us.
The trial date for Lively and Baldoni has been moved from March 9th to May 18, 2026, because the judge has two other criminal trials that need to be handled first. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for January 22nd.
Colleen Hoover’s novel, Reminders of Him, is set to be adapted into a movie scheduled for release on March 13, 2026.
