Juliette Binoche to Preside Over 78th Cannes Film Festival Jury

Actress from France, Juliette Binoche, is set to take over the role of jury president from Greta Gerwig in the forthcoming 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

In the history of Cannes, it will be the second instance where a female juror will lead the panel for two years consecutively.

In 1985, I climbed the stairs for the first time, filled with excitement and apprehension like a young actress; I could hardly have foreseen that I would return after forty years, this time as President of the Jury. She went on to say, expressing her gratitude for the privilege, the burden of responsibility, and the importance of maintaining humility.

The upcoming 78th Cannes Film Festival is set to occur from May 13th to the 24th. Accreditation for this event started on Monday and will end on April 18th. The festival’s Official Selection, carefully chosen by Thierry Fremaux, the director and artistic director of the Cannes Film Festival, along with his selection committee, will be revealed in mid-April.

According to the latest news, Iris Knobloch has been re-appointed as President of Cannes Film Festival for another three years, effectively retaining her position as its leader.
