Judy Blume’s ‘Forever’ Brings Teen Love and Drama to Netflix May 8!

The series adaptation of Judy Blume’s novel “Forever” will premiere Thursday, May 8, on Netflix.

Producer and author Mara Brock Akil is behind a fresh TV series that’s inspired by a 1975 book about teenagers navigating the loss of their virginity. The show offers a unique perspective, unfolding as an extraordinary tale of two African-American teenagers discovering love and self-identity during their shared experience as each other’s first loves, against the backdrop of Los Angeles in 2018, according to its official description.

The ensemble features Lovie Simone, Michael Cooper Jr., Karen Pittman, Wood Harris, Marvin Winans III, Xosha Roquemore, Niles Fitch, Barry Shabaka Henley, Ali Gallo, Xavier Mills, E’myri Crutchfield, Adriyan Rae, and Paigion Walker.

(This version maintains the original structure of the sentence but uses “ensemble” instead of “cast”, which might sound more casual to some readers.)

Akil serves as the executive producer of the drama alongside Blume, Susie Fitzgerald, Sara White, Erika Harrison, Regina King, both Reina King and Anthony Hemingway, and Shana C. Waterman.

As a cinephile eagerly anticipating the return of gripping television, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the third season of Fox’s “Alert: Missing Persons Unit.” Scheduled to air on March 25, this season promises to be as riveting as its predecessors, with the MPU delving into an intriguing mystery that hits close to home – they’re searching for one of their own police department members.

In a fresh preview for the upcoming Paramount+ show “Happy Face,” a woman finds herself face-to-face with her estranged and potentially lethal father.

The TV series is inspired by the true events surrounding the Happy Face Killer, focusing on Melissa (Annaleigh Ashford) as she grapples with her father’s (Dennis Quaid) re-emergence in her life after many years. With a clock ticking, Melissa has to determine if an innocent person is about to be executed for a crime that her father may have actually committed. The ensemble also includes James Wolk, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne, and Benjamin Mackey.

In the trailer, Melissa remarks, “He wasn’t always a villain; he transformed into one. Earlier, he was simply my father.” The show draws influence from the “Happy Face Presents: Two Face” podcast on iHeartPodcasts and the autobiography “Shattered Silence.” It is jointly produced by CBS Studios, King Size Productions, iHeartPodcasts, and Semi-Formal Productions.

The series kicks off on March 20th with a double debut. Fresh installments become available each Thursday, only on Paramount+.
