Josh Hartnett is back in action comedies, and his latest film is proving to be a popular streaming success. Though it didn’t get much attention in theaters earlier this year, the movie recently became available to stream and is now gaining a large audience.
As of October 19, 2025, *Fight or Flight* continues to perform well on Paramount+’s list of most popular movies in the U.S., according to FlixPatrol. It’s been in the Top 5 for the last week, reaching number 3 yesterday. Currently, it’s behind only *The Naked Gun* (#1) and *Vicious* (#2), a new horror film starring Dakota Fanning that became available on Paramount+ earlier this month. *Fight or Flight* first came out in the U.K. in February and started streaming on October 1st.
The film follows a man given a dangerous assignment: to find and safeguard a fugitive on a commercial flight. It’s a fast-paced thriller where Hartnett plays a character looking for redemption as he tries to locate the mysterious target known as ‘The Ghost.’ But his job is complicated by multiple international assassins also on the plane, all with their sights set on The Ghost – and on him.
The movie follows Lucas as he teams up with a mysterious figure, known only as Ghost, in a desperate fight for survival high in the sky. It blends exciting action with humor, and showcases Kevin Hartnett’s growing reputation as an actor. Hartnett recently starred in a film as a serial killer on the run, and has also appeared in Christopher Nolan’s *Oppenheimer*, Netflix’s *Black Mirror*, and Hulu’s *The Bear*.
I just saw this film starring Kyle Hartnett, and he’s joined by the incredibly talented Marko Zaror – you might recognize him from *John Wick: Chapter 4* – and Katee Sackhoff, who’s fantastic in *The Mandalorian*. It initially dropped on Sky Cinema in the UK back in February, and we finally got it here in the States on May 9th. While it didn’t exactly *dominate* the box office, it pulled in $2 million on its opening weekend, landing it at number seven. Not bad, but definitely not a blockbuster.
Despite earning only $4.3 million at the box office, the film *Fight or Flight* has been well-received by viewers. Critics generally liked it, giving it a 77% approval rating based on over 120 reviews, and audiences agree, with a score of 74% from more than 500 verified ratings.
Critics at Rotten Tomatoes praised Josh Hartnett’s energetic performance in *Fight or Flight*, noting his dedication kept the action and comedy engaging and prevented the movie from becoming tiresome. Audiences generally agreed, describing the film as both wildly entertaining and delightfully unhinged.
Hartnett Talks About His Latest Action Movie’s ‘Absurd’ Concept
Recently, the actor discussed the experience of playing a very emotionally charged role. He explained that there are many enjoyable scenes where his character is disconnected from reality, which he found particularly fun to perform. He also emphasized that the overall goal was to create something highly entertaining, and they really leaned into the absurdity of the concept to achieve that.
Fans of Taylor Hartnett’s action movies will be happy to hear he performed all his own stunts in his latest role. He was excited by the challenge, saying, “As soon as I read the script, I knew I wanted to do it. They told me the idea was for me to handle the stunts myself, and I immediately agreed. At 45, I figured opportunities like this wouldn’t come around often.” Hartnett explained that most big action films rely heavily on CGI and stunt doubles, so getting to do his own stunts was a unique experience.
Fight or Flight is now streaming on Paramount+.
