As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a soft spot for heartwarming Christmas tales, I can hardly contain my excitement at the news that “Finding Mr. Christmas” is returning for a second season! Having spent countless hours watching Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas movies, I’ve grown quite fond of their charming leading men and their festive antics.
Hallmark Media is gearing up to find their next Mr. Christmas. The popular reality competition show, “Finding Mr. Christmas,” produced by Jonathan Bennett and Ben Roy, has been given the green light for a second season and will debut on Hallmark+ in 2025.
Bennett serves as host with Melissa Peterman as lead judge.
Bennett expressed that seeing their show become real was a long-held dream, and there are certainly many more tales to unfold in season two,” said he. “There’s plenty of excitement left for us all, and we’ve barely scratched the surface yet.
Roy expresses, “My aspiration for season one was to produce a reality TV show that would distinguish itself – a program combining competition with genuine warmth and inspiration. I am immensely proud of what our remarkable cast and crew have accomplished. The enthusiastic feedback from viewers has been astounding. We eagerly anticipate the task of making season two more heartfelt, more engaging, and somehow… even more appealing.
This reality show focuses on ten hopeful actors participating in holiday-themed contests, learning the skills required to excel as a Hallmark leading man. These skills range from gift wrapping, dancing, acting, and even kissing on screen. Each episode eliminates one contestant, with the final winner securing a lead role in a Hallmark Countdown to Christmas film. The first season’s victor, Ezra Moreland, debuted as the main character in “Happy Howlidays,” sharing the screen with Jessica Lowndes. This movie premiered on the Hallmark Channel on December 21 and can now be streamed on Hallmark+.
David Sefanou, the head of Hallmark’s unscripted content, states, “It’s extremely challenging to develop an entertaining piece that stands out in today’s oversaturated market, especially one that openly expresses its emotions. However, ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ does just that, and we’re eagerly looking forward to producing it once more.
Lisa Hamilton Daly, our Executive Vice President of Programming, expresses her excitement about the success of the initial season and takes pride in having developed a reality competition show that carries a heartfelt essence.
The show titled ‘Mr. Christmas’ is a production of Hallmark Media and Super Delicious. The executive producers for this production are Cara Tapper, Adam Cohen, Joanna Vernetti, Bennett, Roy, and Trish Gold.
