Jeremy Renner Discusses Recovery From Snow Plow Accident: ‘I’m 25% Titanium, So F— Iron Man’

As a fan who has admired Jeremy Renner‘s acting prowess for years, witnessing his resilience and determination in the face of adversity is truly inspiring. The man behind Hawkeye and Mike McLusky has shown an indomitable spirit that defies the odds. His near-fatal accident left many of us worried, but his recovery and return to acting are a testament to his strength.

Jeremy Renner, who experienced a near-deadly snow plow accident in January 2023, shared insights about his recovery during a talk at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival on Tuesday. When asked if his injuries had any restrictions, he replied, “I don’t view it as limitations – even though I’m now 25% titanium, so to heck with Iron Man.

After suffering severe injuries from an accident that resulted in a collapsed chest and thirty fractured bones, Jeremy Renner – famously recognized for portraying Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – has successfully returned to acting.

In January, it will be two years since I faced a significant hardship in my life. I am incredibly proud of overcoming it, and I’m eternally thankful for the love and support I’ve received from people worldwide, many of whom I didn’t even know existed. Their help has been instrumental in my recovery, and it’s become a defining aspect of my life.

Currently, I’m penning a book on the subject. Throughout this journey, I’ve been refining the final draft of it, as it’s been quite vivid in my mind due to my attempts to distance myself from it. This experience has tested me to the brink of death, and the lessons I’ve learned are truly precious. You see, I’ve experienced death and returned, not for my own sake but for a purpose greater than myself. If given the choice, I would have chosen to remain, but I came back, and I’m grateful for it.

Despite the extreme ordeals I went through, resulting in numerous broken bones and severe eye trauma, those experiences ultimately hold no significance in the grand scheme of things.

In January of this year, Renner went back to work on the third season of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown,” where he portrays Mike McLusky. More recently, he appeared in Rian Johnson’s upcoming movie, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” This is his first film since the snow plow accident he experienced. Daniel Craig reappeared as private detective Benoit Blanc in this movie, which was wrapped up in London this summer and is scheduled to be released next fall.

He also mentioned that the cast is absolutely fantastic. It features Andrew Scott, known for his role in “Fleabag”, along with Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, the rising star Josh O’Connor from “Challengers”, and Cailee Spaeny who made a name for herself in “Priscilla”. We had an amazing time filming it. I believe that viewers will thoroughly enjoy the third installment of this series.

Renner is recognized for his work on “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town,” films that earned him Oscar nods, as well as box office hits such as “Avengers: Endgame.
