Jennifer Garner Goes Undercover in Episode 206

Season 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me centers around Hannah and her stepdaughter Bailey as they try to reconnect with Owen, who unexpectedly reappears after five years in hiding. They must uncover the truth about his past before it jeopardizes their chance at a family.

Season 2’s cast includes Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, John Rice, Judy Greer, Augusto Aguilera, Josh Hamilton, Nick Hargrove, Michael Galante, John Noble, Michael Hyatt, Luke Kirby, and others alongside Garner.

As a huge fan of quality TV, I’ve been following the production of this series closely. It’s brought to life by the teams at 20th Television and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine – they really know how to tell a good story! The show is based on the work of Laura Dave, who teamed up with her husband, Josh Singer, to create and adapt it – it’s their first project together, which is lovely. They all – Dave, Singer, Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter – are heavily involved as executive producers. For Season 2, Aaron Zelman, who’s been nominated for an Emmy, joined Josh Singer as a co-showrunner and executive producer, and Daisy von Scherler Mayer and Merri D. Howard also lent their expertise as executive producers. It’s a really impressive team behind the scenes, and I have high hopes for the show!

The Series Is Based on the Bestselling Novel

The Apple TV+ series is based on a novel originally published in 2021 by Simon & Schuster. The book quickly became a huge success, hitting No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and staying there for over 80 weeks. It has sold more than five million copies worldwide and was incredibly popular at libraries across the U.S. in 2022, becoming the top-checked-out eBook. It also received critical acclaim, winning the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Thriller/Suspense in 2021 and being named one of the best books of the year by both Amazon and Apple.

“The Last Thing He Told Me” is the latest Apple Original series from Hello Sunshine, the production company behind shows like “The Morning Show” (with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston), the thriller “Surface” starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and the upcoming limited series “Lucky,” featuring Anya Taylor-Joy and adapted from a book chosen by Reese’s Book Club.
