Javier Pons has been elevated to the roles of Chief Content Officer and Head of Telemundo Studios, which is the production division of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.
In his new role, Pons, who previously held the position of Executive Vice President at Telemundo Studios since 2024, now reports directly to Telemundo’s Chairman, Luis Fernandez.
In addition to managing scripted programs, Pons will now lead Telemundo’s entertainment department, focusing specifically on unscripted content, special events, and daily programming.
Pons will not only continue overseeing scripted material but will also take charge of Telemundo’s entertainment division, with a particular emphasis on unscripted shows, special events, and daily broadcasts.
Pons expressed his honor to broaden his responsibilities, now overseeing Telemundo’s esteemed entertainment division. He is thankful for being welcomed onto a team of experts who have reshaped Hispanic entertainment. Excitedly, he anticipates collaborating with the Studios and Entertainment teams to keep pushing boundaries, creating fresh, modern, and captivating content in Spanish-speaking media.”

Previously, Pons held the positions of general director at Globomedia and head of TV at Mediapro Studio. He was a joint producer for the film “Official Competition” and functioned as a delegate producer for “The Good Boss.” Additionally, he played a significant role in producing the series “Nasdrovia,” “The Boarding School: Las Cumbres,” and “Mano de hierro.

Besides being involved in the production of shows like “Tengo Una Pregunta para Usted,” “Ninja Warrior,” and “El Juego de los Anillos,” Pons holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Universitat Autónomade Barcelona and is a member of the Association of Journalists of Catalonia.
