The Costume Designers Guild has announced that it will be presenting the Vanguard Spotlight Award to Janelle Monáe at this year’s Costume Designers Guild Awards.

This honor, known as the Costume Designers Guild Vanguard Spotlight Award, is given to a performer who sparks the creativity of experts and viewers everywhere. This award recognizes an artist who establishes groundbreaking standards within their field, not just for their remarkable accomplishments but also for their bravery as a trailblazer, inspiring us all.

Billie Eilish, who received a Grammy nomination, becomes the second artist ever to receive this award. Last year, she was the very first one to win it.

I’m thrilled to share that the Guild has unveiled the nominees across nine diverse categories on December 13th. We’re now in our 27th year, and this year promises to be special as we honor exceptional individuals like Zoe Saldaña, Jenny Beavan, and Salvador Perez at the upcoming event. The awards are set for February 6th at The Ebell of Los Angeles – mark your calendars!

Western Costume will serve as a premiere sponsor for the event once again.

I’m thrilled to share that the movie “The Thinking Game” by Greg Kohs has found a distributor, In Real Life Movies! Starting February 2nd, it will be screened in more than 50 cinemas around the globe. Can’t wait to see it on the big screen!

As a movie enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: “In 2024, I was captivated by ‘The Thinking Game’ at the Tribeca Festival. This film offers a compelling look into the life of Demis Hassabis, a brilliant scientist and Nobel Prize laureate, focusing on the groundbreaking moments that shaped the establishment of a renowned AI lab.

The In Real Life (IRL) Film Club is a non-profit, community-based organization focused on promoting documentaries. Unlike conventional settings, it offers unique, close-knit screenings that deviate from typical question-and-answer sessions.

Annie Roney, President of the IRL Movie Club Board, finds ‘The Thinking Game’ ideal for our upcoming movie release. The film has already left a lasting impact, as evidenced by its sold-out screenings and standing ovations at Tribeca’s largest theater. It’s not often that filmmakers witness a moment of discovery that could significantly change the course of human existence and our natural environment.
