As a huge DC fan, I was really excited to see James Gunn’s DCU finally showing off some proper marketing for their upcoming projects! They just dropped the new logos for Supergirl and Lanterns, and things are really starting to feel real. They had a cool booth at CCXP to kick off the Supergirl campaign, and it sounds like the first trailer is coming soon. It’s wild to think the first movie, Supergirl, is hitting theaters in just six months – June 26, 2026! Then later that year, we’re getting the Lanterns series on HBO Max in late summer, and Clayface will bring some creepy Gotham horror to the screen on September 11, 2026. It’s going to be a busy year for DC, and I can’t wait!
With the release of a new logo, Warner Bros. and DC Studios are starting to build excitement for the upcoming Supergirl movie, scheduled for June 2026. The logo’s design, which fans of this year’s Superman may recognize, is inspired by the “Kingdom Come” comic book series and features a shimmering effect to suggest a cosmic backdrop.

The DC Universe’s branding included a different logo for Supergirl, featuring a bright, retro style that was quite different from the look of James Gunn’s Superman logo.

The Super-Family, known for displaying the House of El symbol on their chests, all share a similar logo. Supergirl’s crest is largely the same as Superman’s, but with a few small changes – notably, a black bevel instead of yellow. This subtle difference may hint at a more complex or serious personality for Kara Zor-El compared to her optimistic cousin.

DC Studios might use different logos for Supergirl in its marketing, potentially to showcase her complex character. However, the logo that resembles Superman‘s is likely to be the main one for the movie.

The new Supergirl movie is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. Craig Gillespie will direct, and Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay, which is inspired by the Woman of Tomorrow comic book series. The film will feature Milly Alcock as Supergirl, alongside Eve Ridley as Ruthye, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills.
Following that, we’ll see updates on Lanterns. It recently got a new logo that looks different from the one Guy Gardner (played by Nathan Fillion and appearing in the upcoming HBO Superman series) wore in this summer’s movie.

Fans believe the swirling patterns in the new logo for Lanterns could be a clue about a big Justice League villain. With James Gunn having stated Lanterns will be important for the overall DC Universe story, some speculate the series might introduce the Centre.

This logo looks quite different from the one used in the 2011 Green Lantern movie. It uses a cooler, bluish-green color and doesn’t have the complete circular shape around it.

As a big movie fan, I was really excited to get a first glimpse of Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as Hal Jordan and John Stewart! HBO released a short featurette for the upcoming eight-episode series – it’s clearly taking inspiration from True Detective, and it showed us what the actors will look like in costume. We even got a peek at the show’s logo, which was a nice touch.

The text features a simple, clean font and feels more understated compared to previous Green Lantern logos.
I noticed something interesting when comparing the 2011 Green Lantern movie and the animated series. The movie went for a font that felt very futuristic and sci-fi, while the animated series really embraced a bolder, more colorful, and frankly, over-the-top lettering style. It was a noticeable difference in how each presentation chose to visually represent the brand.

Even though the show’s debut has been pushed back to late summer, fans are excited because a description of the trailer hinted at a fourth Green Lantern character. This news comes after some previews were shown to journalists and a select group of viewers.

Despite a planned release date of September 11, 2026, the marketing for the upcoming Clayface movie hasn’t begun and likely won’t until spring. However, the film’s logo was recently spotted on set. Directed by James Watkins and created by Mike Flanagan, the DC Universe horror film stars Tom Rhys Harries as the iconic Batman villain.
The DCU’s Global Takeover Is Just Beginning, And I Can’t Wait
DC Studios is heavily promoting Supergirl, even putting up a countdown clock in Times Square to build excitement for the first trailer. Warner Bros. invested a lot in marketing Superman internationally earlier this year, and they likely want to repeat that success with Supergirl.
Since Lanterns isn’t expected to debut until late Summer 2026, probably a few months after Supergirl, the two shows might initially share the audience’s attention. But the full focus could shift to the HBO series in July 2026 or later, after Supergirl has finished its run, potentially boosting overall interest in the DCU.
Despite the current changes, DC Studios is likely to heavily promote Clayface to appeal to fans of horror and those who don’t typically follow superhero stories, hoping to broaden the DC Universe’s audience. With these three projects potentially being marketed around the same time, 2026 could be a major year for DC, bringing it back into the spotlight.
As far as I can tell, DC Studios is only planning three live-action releases in 2026 – two movies and a series for HBO. There’s a chance we might get an animated project added to that later in the year, like a continuation of Blue Beetle as a series, but nothing’s official yet.
