James Gunn owns the original red power stone from Marvel’s set and more
Following each episode of Peacemaker, the show’s official podcast – Peacemaker: The Official Podcast with James Gunn – becomes available on DC’s YouTube channel. This podcast delves into fascinating behind-the-scenes stories and dissects scenes. In Season 2, Episode 3 of the podcast, Gunn shared tales about props he’d collected from both Marvel and DC production sets.
Gunn shared that he possesses the Peace-Cycle belonging to Peacemaker in Season 2. He explained, “Over there is where you’ll find Peacemaker’s Peace-Cycle, but rest assured, I didn’t pilfer it. I’m the one calling the shots.”
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share an interesting behind-the-scenes story about one of my favorite projects. When I was directing Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, I noticed something peculiar – crystals from the set were constantly disappearing! By the end of production, not a single crystal remained.
Moving on to another exciting Marvel project, Guardians of the Galaxy, I found myself in possession of a unique artefact. “I’m fortunate enough to have the original Infinity Stone from Guardians 1,” I proudly shared. During filming, it was still red, but as you saw on screen, we gave it a purple hue for the final product.
Gunn’s statement implies that he owns the very same vehicle used in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which was driven by Kurt Russell’s character, Ego, during a short scene at the start of the film while he was on Earth.
The director confessed that he didn’t take those items himself, instead claiming that someone had given them to him. Regarding the matter, Gunn declared, ‘I possess Bill Pardy’s badge from Slither. I have quite an impressive collection of interesting items.’
