As a seasoned boxing enthusiast with a keen eye for talent and a knack for predicting future champions, I must admit that Jake Paul‘s recent statements have left me intrigued. While his victories may not be universally recognized, there’s no denying the charisma and determination he brings to the ring.
Jake Paul turned down a world title boxing match since he’s seeking a more challenging adversary compared to the one proposed to him.
With Jake Paul growing more dedicated to his boxing career, the self-proclaimed ‘Problem Child’ has made it clear that he aspires to achieve one major milestone – becoming a world champion. However, many skeptics have dismissed this notion, particularly since his matches don’t award him significant ranking points.
As a gamer, I’ve got to say, the YouTube-turned-boxer has been receiving some interesting proposals after his recent victory over ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The current heavyweight champ, ‘Dynamite’ Daniel Dubois, even suggested we step into the ring together. And guess what? The undisputed light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev, has also thrown his hat in the ring, offering a fight against this social media sensation. It’s getting real exciting!
Additionally, the president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Mendoza, is trying to arrange a matchup between Jake and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. If successful, this fight would be for a newly established WBA belt, although it would also hold the status of a world title.
Jake Paul won’t fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Instead, Jake shows no inclination towards battling the previous WBC middleweight title holder. The reason being, he’s more interested in challenging a ‘harder’ adversary instead.
On December 13th, Paul expressed his desire for a more formidable individual and a genuine belt, rather than one used solely for show or amusement.
“It’s great and all, but, honestly, he’s easy work and I want someone tougher to shut people up.”

Jake’s victory against Tyson was meant to mark the end of his career in boxing, leading him to pursue Mixed Martial Arts instead. However, as of now, he hasn’t made his first appearance with the PFL – Professional Fighters League – even though a contract was signed back in early 2023.
In 2025, ‘The Problem Child’ plans to have his first appearance, but he insists on facing off against Nate Diaz. However, as per Jake, the resident of Stockton is proving elusive during negotiations.
In addition to everything else, he’s been discussing a potential re-match with Tommy Fury for the chance to get his revenge. Therefore, we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out how things unfold.
