Jack Black’s In A Lot Of Adventurous Movies Like A Minecraft Movie, Jumanji, And Anaconda, But I Did Not See His ‘Worst’ Filming Experience Coming

If you felt a sense of familiarity watching Jack Black run through the jungle in the Anaconda trailers, that makes sense! He’s been filming a lot of adventurous movies lately, like A Minecraft Movie, and the Jumanji films (Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level – with another one on the way!). But according to Black, nothing compares to the unsettling experience of filming Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder.

Although his new film, Anaconda, involved working with a real snake, Ice Cube recently shared with USA Today that the experience wasn’t nearly as challenging as something he faced while filming the 2008 war movie Tropic Thunder. When asked about encountering animals on set during shoots in places like Australia and New Zealand, he revealed the most difficult situation actually happened in the United States.

The most frightening experience happened in Hawaii. While filming in Kaua’i, the jungle was incredibly dense. One crew member was bitten by a centipede, and his scream echoed for what felt like miles. Seriously, centipedes are terrifying. If you get a close look, their heads seem almost demonic, and I heard their bites are unbelievably painful.

I’ll admit, I’m scared of pretty much anything with a lot of legs, so I didn’t need Jack Black to warn me about centipedes. However, while I’ve always been creeped out by the idea of those legs crawling on my skin, I didn’t realize how painful a centipede bite actually is.

A quick look at WebMD shows that centipedes aren’t dangerous to people, but they do have venomous claws they’ll use if they feel threatened. While reactions vary depending on the type of centipede, bites can be made worse by allergies. Pain is a common symptom, which seems to match what Jack Black experienced.

The movie Anaconda doesn’t feature any insects, but it does have plenty of scenes with the enormous snake – which attacks by both biting and constricting its victims. If you enjoy that kind of thrilling action, along with the funny dynamic between Jack Black and Paul Rudd, then you’ll love this new comedy now showing in theaters.
