I’m so excited for Tom Felton! It’s amazing how the Harry Potter cast will always be linked to their iconic roles, and Tom seems to have really figured out how to handle it. He’s happily embracing being Draco Malfoy, the character that made him famous as a kid, and he’s even bringing that character back to life as an adult – on Broadway, no less! He actually said Daniel Radcliffe inspired him to lean into it, which is just heartwarming to hear. It’s great to see them supporting each other like that.
Tom Felton will reprise his role as Draco Malfoy in future Broadway performances of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. During an interview on Good Morning America, he spoke about his former Harry Potter co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, and his successful career on stage. Felton confessed that he’s been inspired by watching Radcliffe’s achievements. He then continued by saying…
I’ve taken a few tips from Potter, this is true.
After finishing the Harry Potter films, Daniel Radcliffe stepped away from acting for a bit. In 2007, he took on a bold role in the play Equus, which included nude scenes – a daring move for the 17-year-old actor at the time. Since then, he’s become a regular on stage, and recently won a Tony Award for Best Actor for his performance in Merrily We Roll Along.

HBO Max subscriptions begin at $10.99 per month. Fans of the Harry Potter series can stream all the movies, including a chance to revisit Tom Felton’s performance as Draco Malfoy. Check out the deal here.
It’s understandable that Felton mentions Radcliffe as an influence. He was impressed by some of Radcliffe’s earlier work and it made him consider acting himself. Now he’s getting the chance, but in a role he’s already familiar with. Felton went on to say…
I first saw him perform on Broadway over ten years ago, and he really inspired me to pursue a career here. Now, as a Tony Award winner, he embodies everything that makes Broadway so wonderful.
Tom Felton has been sharing updates with fans about his recent work. He’s given glimpses behind the scenes, like his costume fitting and the first read-through of the script. He’s hoping many of his former Harry Potter co-stars will come to see his show, and Daniel Radcliffe might even be there for his Broadway debut. Jason Isaacs, who played his father in the films, has already said he’s excited to attend.
Tom Felton will be reprising his role as Draco Malfoy, now as an adult, beginning next week on November 1st. He’ll be performing until March 22, 2026. Fans of Harry Potter are eagerly anticipating this unique opportunity to see both the original and adult versions of the character brought to life.
