The long-awaited revival of Daredevil titled “Born Again” has been released, offering raw, impactful action scenes and bringing back beloved characters from the initial series. However, it seems that one of the original show’s most popular figures may not make it through this storyline.

The trailer brings Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, filling viewers in on his extended absence from vigilantism through a lengthy chat with the Kingpin, now serving as mayor. The trailer also reveals Karen Page’s return and hints at Jon Bernthal’s reprisal of the Punisher.

Furthermore, there seems to be an upcoming event that has sparked concerns among fans about a possible significant character demise in the forthcoming series, and we have a strong suspicion about who it might be.

The Daredevil: Born Again trailer seems to signal Foggy’s doom

It appears something significant occurred to temporarily halt Matt Murdock’s Daredevil career prior to the storyline of Daredevil: Born Again, which seems deeply unfortunate. In one scene, Murdock tells Fisk “a boundary was breached,” and the trailer transitions to a moment where his mask descends onto a street swarming with police. One can only wonder what boundary could have been crossed so profoundly that it forced Matt away from his heroic duties?

In one scene, Fisk highlights that Murdock’s legal career has shifted dramatically, shown through images of Murdock, Page, and Foggy strolling cheerfully down the street together. However, the contrast between this carefree moment in the clip and Murdock and Page’s expressions throughout the rest of the trailer suggests a nostalgic period of joy, and the subsequent footage of Page seems to be connected to the crisis that brings Murdock back to his vigilante ways. It appears Foggy is not shown in any following scenes.

In the most devastating way possible, if Foggy were to pass away, it would drive Murdock to the depths of despair, much like the loss of Page would. The boundary that Murdock never wished to cross again might be breached due to an unimaginable tragedy or a catastrophic event. This potential outcome could very well push him beyond his limits.

Fans over X have noticed the subtle hints at Foggy’s demise, and there’s already a budding uproar.

Wow, that shot was phenomenal, but I can’t shake off the feeling that Foggy stepped over a boundary, and I truly hope it’s not true…

You see, Foggy is like the guardian angel for Matt Murdock. If he’s taken away, so much of what makes Daredevil compelling would be lost.

I’m making this clear. If either Karen or Foggy (with special emphasis on Foggy) passes away, I’ll no longer be a part of this. This trio is inseparable; they come as a set and can’t be split up.

We won’t find out for certain until the Disney+ series premieres on March 4, 2025, but these are the characters we can confirm as being alive and thriving in modern-day Hell’s Kitchen.
