The first episode introduces a group of children – Teddy Uris, played by Mikkal Karim-Fidler, and twins Phil and Susie Malkin, played by Jack and Matilda Legault. However, the creature who usually appears as Pennywise shockingly kills all three of them. This unexpected turn means the story will now focus on the consequences of this tragedy.

The second episode of ‘It: Welcome to Derry’ will be available to stream on HBO Max at 6 PM Pacific Time / 9 PM Eastern Time on Friday, October 31st. HBO has adjusted the release schedule slightly, so fans can enjoy a new episode while celebrating Halloween.
Viewers outside the US will need to either watch “Welcome to Derry” Episode 2 late at night or wait until the next day, being careful to avoid spoilers. The director explained to Entertainment Weekly that this moment is meant to be shocking and create a feeling that no character is secure. The story leads viewers to believe they’ve met the new generation of heroes, only to reveal that everyone may have already perished.
