It looks like Majesty, but has new ideas. New RTS modernizes the kingdom-building classic

The Rockbee Team’s new game, Lessaria: Fantasy Kingdom Sim, became available on Steam yesterday. It’s a strategy game with role-playing elements, and the creators say it’s inspired by the classic game Majesty.

Lessaria in a nutshell

In the game Lessaria, you grow a fantasy kingdom and guide it to success. Unlike many strategy games, you don’t directly control your people – instead, you influence them, much like in the game Majesty.

Instead of directly controlling characters, you guide them by giving them tasks. If a character finds a task worthwhile, like building something or defending the kingdom, they’ll do it on their own. This makes the game less predictable than most real-time strategy games.

The game was carefully crafted to feel like a true continuation of the Majesty series, going beyond a simple imitation. Lessaria also introduces fresh ideas, including a revamped combat system and the ability to organize heroes into teams.

Lessaria – player reception

When Lessaria first launched, it hit a peak of over 1,600 players on Steam, which was awesome! As of today, around 180 people have reviewed it, and the good news is that 85% of them really enjoyed the game. I’m definitely curious to check it out now!

Players generally agree that Lessaria is a great game for those who enjoyed Majesty. It closely follows the original, which many appreciate, and the developers even brought back the original voice actor for the royal advisor.

Some players are disappointed by the limited sandbox mode. While the game does have one, it’s essentially a never-ending survival challenge on the same map. A lot of people also wish the game had a multiplayer option.

If you’re interested, Lessaria is on sale on Steam for just $19.92 until November 3rd.
