IShowSpeed quickly became a viral sensation during the early days of his Africa trip, which began on December 29, 2025. He raced a cheetah, but not before the animal playfully scratched him during the warm-up.
The popular online streamer, famous for his travel videos and daring challenges, recently raced a cheetah. Video from his livestream showed him getting ready for the race, but he was quickly left in the dust as the cheetah sped ahead.
Speed vs. Cheetah
The cheetah quickly took the lead as soon as the race started, passing Speed. As expected, the cheetah won, but a video on Speed’s YouTube channel revealed they finished almost simultaneously.
Although it might have seemed like a fair match, it’s important to remember that cheetahs are incredibly fast – the fastest land animal, reaching speeds of 68 to 75 miles per hour. In comparison, Usain Bolt, the fastest human ever recorded, ran at 27.78 mph.
Before the contest, the cheetah scratched Speed’s leg, leaving a visible wound.
Speed is taking a page from Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, by featuring animals – specifically cheetahs – in his videos. In a 2024 video, MrBeast famously pitted cheetahs against humans in a series of challenges, including a race against a fast car.
In a July 2025 conversation on X (formerly Twitter), Donaldson offered to arrange a race between Speed and an animal if Speed was interested.
Speed’s Africa tour is ongoing and is scheduled to until late January 2026.
