IShowSpeed breaks another huge YouTube milestone amid massive Africa tour

IShowSpeed celebrated his 21st birthday by reaching a huge milestone: 50 million subscribers on YouTube!

In the early days of YouTube, reaching one million subscribers was a huge accomplishment – it meant you’d receive a special award and establish yourself as a leading creator. But things have changed a lot recently, and that milestone doesn’t feel as significant as it used to.

Creators like PewDiePie, MrBeast, Cocomelon, and the Stokes Twins have shown that gaining over 100 million subscribers is now very achievable. iShowSpeed has also been steadily working towards this milestone for several years.

The popular streamer, known for his successful online events, has been reaching a wider audience. He recently hit a major milestone – and it happened on his 21st birthday!

IShowSpeed breaks 50 million YouTube subs on his birthday

Speed reached 50 million subscribers during a livestream in Nigeria, celebrating the milestone by standing on top of a car in traffic with a celebratory cake.

The YouTuber noted he is “halfway” to his goal of joining the 100 million subscriber club too.

He exclaimed excitedly, “Let’s go! 50 million!” He continued, saying reaching 50 million was the best birthday present he could have hoped for, and expressed his deep gratitude to his fans, saying he couldn’t ask for anything more.

Speed stands out from other popular channels because he mainly streams live on YouTube. Most other channels focus on creating longer, pre-recorded videos, posting content every day, or are connected to larger companies that support artists and creators.

Speed dominated streaming in 2025, racking up over 64.1 million hours of watch time – nearly 20 million more than Gaules, who came in second. He only saw higher peak viewership numbers from DjMariiO on YouTube Gaming.

Speed primarily creates content on YouTube, but he’s also been streaming on Twitch again recently. On Twitch, he has over 3.2 million followers and has been averaging more than 30,000 viewers per stream during his current tour of Africa.
