People on social media think actor Timothée Chalamet might secretly be the British rapper EsDeeKid, and the rumor has gotten so big that Chalamet has now addressed it. Here’s a breakdown of what’s been said about his possible double life.
Timothée Chalamet is quickly becoming a major star in Hollywood, gaining even more attention after his memorable speech at the SAG Awards where he talked about striving for excellence in his work. He’s popular for his roles in films like Dune, Wonka, Call Me By Your Name, and A Complete Unknown. His next project is the sports drama Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, which will be released this year.
Online fans are speculating that Timothée Chalamet might be the masked rapper EsDeeKid, known for songs like “Bally,” “LV Sandals,” and “Cali Man.” EsDeeKid’s mask only covers everything but his eyes, and many think those eyes look a lot like Chalamet’s.
Even though EsDeeKid’s tour dates don’t always match where Timothée Chalamet was during the Marty Supreme tour, a recent vague comment Chalamet made about the rapper has led many fans to believe they are actually the same person.
Is Timothee Chalamet EsDeeKid?

We don’t have a definitive answer yet. However, when asked about rumors that he might play EsDeeKid during a UK interview with Heart radio, Timothée Chalamet didn’t confirm or deny them, but his response was definitely interesting.
“You’ll find out eventually,” said the lead actor from Marty Supreme. EsDeeKid hasn’t said anything publicly about the rumors yet.
Right now, this just confirms Timothée Chalamet knows about the speculation, and might be connected to it somehow. He could be using the name EsDeeKid to secretly create cloud rap and trap music outside of his acting work, or it might be part of a larger project he has planned.
Timothée Chalamet is a known fan of rap music, and before becoming a famous actor, he even performed as Lil Timmy Tim. Many also remember his hilarious portrayal of a modern rapper, $mokecheddathaassgetta, during his time on Saturday Night Live.
Beyond looking alike, Timothée Chalamet was seen at a Fakemink concert in London last August. Fakemink and EsDeeKid collaborated on the song “LV Sandals,” and EsDeeKid has also been photographed wearing clothes that appear to be from Timothée Chalamet’s wardrobe.
If Timothée Chalamet is indeed EsDeeKid, fans are sure to be even more curious about everything that’s happened. For example, why did he choose a Liverpudlian accent for his online persona? Was it to hide who he was, or was it simply a way to practice different accents and improve his acting?
Before we get too excited about rumors involving Timothée Chalamet and EsDeeKid, a new report from GQ suggests they might not be true.
Timothée Chalamet and EsDeeKid timeline anomaly
Last November, GQ magazine looked into the theory that Timothée Chalamet is secretly the musician EsDeeKid. They compared the timelines of both Chalamet’s promotional work for “Marty Supreme” and EsDeeKid’s European concerts, and found that it would have been feasible for Chalamet to travel between events.
GQ magazine highlighted a conflict in EsDeeKid and Timothée Chalamet’s schedules on October 9th. EsDeeKid performed a show in Milan at 8 PM, while Chalamet attended a screening of Marty Supreme in New York a few hours later the same day.
Okay, so I was trying to figure out if Timothée Chalamet could’ve made it back to the States, and after checking the time zones and the nine-hour flight from Milan, it just wasn’t possible. There simply wasn’t enough time!
It’s definitely possible Timothée Chalamet used a stand-in for his EsDeeKid performance to allow him to be at the Marty Supreme screening. But if that’s the case, it starts to feel a bit over the top, like the Bruce Wayne/Batman scenario. Right now, it seems Chalamet is enjoying the speculation, and hopefully we’ll get some answers soon.
