It’s almost Mario Day! To get everyone excited, Nintendo just dropped the final trailer for the Super Mario Galaxy movie and announced that Donald Glover will be the voice of Yoshi. He’s joined by Jack Black, Luis Guzman, and Brie Larson—wait a minute, aren’t those three former guest stars from Community, along with one of the ‘Greendale Seven’? Someone needs to call Dean Pelton right away—he’d probably make a fantastic Wario!
Though Black, Guzman, and Larson weren’t main characters on Community, they each left a lasting impression—Guzman’s character was particularly memorable! Black played Buddy, a classmate who wanted to join the study group, Larson was Abed’s love interest, and Guzman became known as the school’s most famous graduate. And, of course, Glover was one half of the iconic Troy and Abed. The biggest challenge with making the Community movie, however, was everyone’s busy schedules. Maybe we need to get creative to reunite the Greendale seven—perhaps a meeting in the Mushroom Kingdom—until we can officially bring them all back together.
