However, it seems the rumors aren’t true. Ballerini attended the CMAs alone on November 20th, and the next day, Stokes addressed the speculation in a series of posts on Instagram Stories. He stated, according to screenshots published by TMZ, that he hadn’t done anything wrong and had blocked Ballerini, adding a simple “Sorry ❤️. I tried.” In a follow-up post, he expressed his regret to those who had hoped they were together, saying, “I’m sorry for those who believed in us. It is what it is. Onwards and upwards.”
So, how did we end up with confusing updates about Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini’s relationship? They began dating in January 2023, shortly after Ballerini’s split from Morgan Evans and while Stokes was still working on a TV show with his former partner, Madelyn Cline. They announced their breakup in September, with sources telling People magazine they’d both tried hard to make the relationship work but ultimately couldn’t. However, just this month, People reported seeing them holding hands in Croatia. This seems to contradict Stokes’ apparent dislike of media attention and speculation.
