The developers of the upcoming fighting game, Invincible VS, recently shared their opinions on the popular superhero game, Dispatch.
Dispatch launched in late 2025 to widespread acclaim from both players and critics. This first game from AdHoc puts you in the role of Robert Robertson, a former superhero now working at SDN – an agency that sends local heroes to assist people with all sorts of problems, from emergencies to everyday issues.
AdHoc, a team of developers who previously worked at Telltale Games, demonstrated their continued storytelling prowess with a compelling narrative. It follows a struggling superhero who unexpectedly finds himself part of a makeshift family comprised of former villains.
Players and even other game developers have been particularly impressed by how realistically the game portrays superheroes and villains in today’s world.
Invincible VS team praises Dispatch’s voice work & writing
We recently spoke with the developers of Invincible VS, a 3v3 team fighting game by Quarter Up. They’re known for creating superhero worlds that feel more grounded and realistic than what you typically see in comics or movies.
Similar to the series Dispatch, Invincible portrays heroes dealing with realistic life challenges—complicated relationships, legal problems, work issues—along with plenty of action and violence. Because of these similarities, viewers on social media frequently compared the two shows, imagining how characters from each world would handle situations in the other.

Mike Rogers, the narrative director for Invincible VS, shared his positive opinion of the game Dispatch when asked about it.
“I’ve only gotten through the first couple of episodes so far, but it’s really cool to see how that team has expanded on Telltale-style storytelling,” he told us. “The voice work and writing are top-notch and it looks great.
Honestly, what I love most about Invincible is how real it feels. It’s not just about the epic fights – those are amazing, don’t get me wrong – but also how the characters deal with everything after those battles. Seeing the emotional fallout and the human side of being a superhero is just really compelling. Huge shoutout to the team at The Dispatch for making that happen!

These comments from Rogers follow Dispatch being nominated for Best Indie Game at the 2025 Game Awards. The game is also a contender for the Player’s Choice Award, which is decided entirely by fan votes.
Invincible VS is set to launch on April 30, 2026 on Xbox X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
