A new poster for Invincible Season 4 has sparked excitement among fans, as it closely resembles a famous scene from the comic books. Many believe this suggests the upcoming season will feature a significant event related to the Viltrumite War.
As far as we know, Mark teamed up with Atom Eve to defeat Conquest at the end of Season 3. However, Cecil didn’t follow Mark’s request to destroy the body, meaning the powerful Viltrumite is expected to return in Season 4.
The upcoming season of Robert Kirkman’s superhero show will center around the Viltrumite War storyline, and will introduce the powerful character Thragg, who will be voiced by Lee Pace.
Because the Invincible show stays pretty faithful to the original comic books (except for one scene after the credits in Season 3), we have a good sense of what’s coming up. However, a recent hint suggests a major event might happen earlier than anticipated.

The latest poster features a damaged Mark and Omni-Man flying with their fists tightly clenched, set against a fiery backdrop and a beam of light. It’s reminiscent of a famous scene from Invincible, where the duo and Thaedus are shown flying through and destroying the planet Viltrum.

Okay, so everyone’s been talking about Season 4 focusing on the Viltrumite War, and honestly, it’s about time! We’ve been guessing for ages that they’d finally animate that huge battle, and all the teasers they’ve released pretty much confirm it’s happening. I’m so hyped!
This poster is just fueling the excitement, and one fan recently noticed it directly references a specific panel from the source material. They shared a comparison image with the caption, “I just figured out the poster is based on this!”
The comparison has led to a discussion, and not everyone believes it will happen soon. One person stated it wouldn’t happen this season, but the original poster responded that episode descriptions and the trailer suggest otherwise.
For the uninitiated, the episode descriptions were recently revealed, and they are as follows:

Not everyone agrees the poster is connected to the comic panel. One person pointed out it resembles the sun, noting there are only two of them. Another suggested it might be a very loose inspiration, but not a direct reference.
Someone else suggested Mark and Omni-Man might travel to Talescria after Mark recovers from his coma, teaming up with the Coalition to battle the Viltrumites who are attacking the planet.
Not everyone disliked it, though. One person commented that they recognized the reference as soon as they saw the promotional image, and hoped the character’s outfit would have the same visual impact as it did in the original comic books.
