As a gamer who has been following the digital influencer scene for quite some time now, it’s truly disheartening to witness the senseless violence that seems to be increasingly prevalent among these individuals. The tragic death of Fedra Gaxiola serves as yet another chilling reminder of the dangers lurking in the shadows of internet fame.
24-year-old social media influencer, Fedra Oded Gaxiola Orozco, tragically lost her life in a deliberate assault outside a fitness center, while seated in her vehicle.
Online personality, Fedra Gaxiola (also known as Orozco), had amassed a significant following of over 224,000 Instagram followers and 140,000 TikTok users. However, these accounts have been made private after her tragic murder on December 5.
In the López Lucio district of Tijuana, Mexico, it’s believed that Gaxiola was intentionally attacked when he was shot several times while his vehicle was parked outside Hardcore Fitness Gym. Investigators suspect this incident was targeted towards him.
Instagram star Fedra Gaxiola shot dead in ‘targeted’ killing
At 8:35 AM, bullets from an unidentified gunman shattered the windows of Gaxiola’s black Mercedes Benz. Tragically, she lost her life, and the assailant promptly left the crime scene without delay. Bystanders swiftly contacted authorities for assistance, with some eyewitnesses reporting that the suspect escaped in a Chevrolet HHR.
Although some bystanders suspect multiple individuals could have been part of the shooting, Homicide Unit Prosecutor Miguel Ángel Gaxiola Rodríguez indicates that the ongoing investigation on Gaxiola’s death appears to implicate a single individual who may have targeted the internet star for an undisclosed motive.
As I write this, there are currently no reported arrests in connection with the case, keeping followers of the model on tenterhooks for explanations.
Gaxiola had a reputation for creating health and fitness-focused content, and she often partnered with sports apparel companies for her social media shares.
It’s not just Gaxiola who has faced a lethal attack this year; in May 2024, the Korean YouTuber ‘Joddoltv’ was broadcasting live in Busan when a rival content creator unexpectedly stabbed him to death during his stream.
In the year 2023, the influential figure in both the beauty world and crime scene, Sabrina Duran, famously recognized as TikTok’s ‘Narco Queen,’ met an unfortunate end when she was fatally shot by two individuals during her journey to a nail salon.
