Indie RPG OFF adds new rare enemies, PC accessibility features, and more in patch 1.0.0.4

The indie RPG OFF received an update this week, version 1.0.0.4. This update includes new, rare enemies, improved accessibility options for PC players, and other enhancements.

The latest update is available now for both Nintendo Switch and Steam. It includes increased variety in Omega’s Radial Blur effects, lets you use spaces when creating your player name, and other improvements. We’re planning update 1.1 to add support for more languages, as explained in detail on our official account here and here.

You can find the full patch notes and known issues below.

OFF 1.0.0.4 patch notes for Steam and Nintendo Switch

  • (New!) Some rare enemies have now been added. 🙂

  • (Fix) Fixed missing Wide Angle text for some enemies.

  • (Fix) You can now use spaces in player names again.

  • (Balance) Omega’s Radial Blur random effects is even more randomized.

  • (Accessibility) The mouse cursor now automatically hides when a controller is being used, and reappears if the mouse is moved. This supports players who prefer to use different mouse control schemes.

  • (Accessibility) Now, pressing the Scroll Lock key while on the options or main menu will take you directly to the keyboard remapping settings. This feature is especially helpful for players who can’t use the arrow keys – for example, those who rely on the Windows Onscreen Keyboard – as it allows them to customize the keys when they first launch the game.

  • (Other) Disabled “managed stripping”.

  • The message “The entire party is STATUS” won’t appear if there’s only one surviving party member. It also doesn’t display for all different statuses.

  • Rescanning a normal scan on a crit scanned enemy does not hide the hp value.

  • The Wide Angle HP bar for short named enemies (ie. Cob) now widens the black box if necessary.

  • Sugar now informs the player that she has dropped “Grand Chocolatier”. (She consistently dropped this item, but previously this action wasn’t displayed to the player.)

  • Some ladders in white zone used wrong battle background color; this is fixed.

  • Some enemies were an incorrect scan type.

  • Golden Flesh should be single target.

  • Out of bounds fixes in new Pentel white zone.

Known Issues

  • No Windowed Mode in the options. (Workaround: Press Alt-Enter at anytime.)

  • Epsilon sometimes does not start at full HP.

  • Some critical attack UI does not match black background UI variant.

  • Cannot rebind “Battle Log” key.

  • The Battle Log isn’t explained within the game. (Hold R (keyboard)/R (Switch)/RB (Xbox)/R1 (PS) to look back at what happened during a fight.)

  • Sometimes, if you pause the game, enemies that are floating in the air might drift away. This is a visual glitch only and doesn’t impact gameplay or combat.

  • Occasional awkward line breaks with OpenDyslexic font.

OFF is now available for Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). Read Cullen’s review here.
