India’s Cinevesture Sets Second Film Festival and Market, Partners With IFFLA (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie buff with a penchant for all things cinematic, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of the second edition of India’s Cinevesture International Film Festival and CinéV-CHD market component. Having spent countless hours immersed in the intricate world of film, I’ve come to appreciate the unique challenges and opportunities that lie within this industry.

The India’s Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF), which had taken a break, is ready to make a comeback with its second edition! This event is scheduled from March 20-23, 2025, in Chandigarh. Additionally, its market segment has been given a fresh look and is now known as CinéV-CHD.

The inaugural festival, attended by prominent figures such as Karan Johar, Boman Irani, Sudhir Mishra, Shekhar Kapur, and Richa Chadha, is growing via a fresh collaboration with the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).

Under the name CinéV-IFFLA, a partnership has been established. This collaboration will involve showcasing projects curated by Cinevesture within IFFLA’s Industry Days program during their 23rd edition in May 6-10, 2025. The Industry Days program serves as a bridge between South Asian filmmakers and Hollywood producers, offering opportunities through pitch competitions, discussions, workshops, and networking events.

CinéV-CHD represents the initial event in a lineup of movie markets intended to link film industry professionals with investors and distributors. This innovative concept is the creation of Nina Lath, who was the leader of Film Bazaar, the largest co-production market in South Asia, from 2006 to 2018.

Producing films can be difficult for private investors because they’re not physical products and don’t last long. However, the thrill of storytelling through cinema and the possibility of significant profits make it an appealing prospect.” – Nina Lath, founder-CEO of Cinevesture.

Christina Marouda, founder of IFFLA, stated: “The collaboration with Cinevesture arrives at an ideal moment for us as IFFLA extends its 23-year legacy and reach into the creation of content focused on South Asia. We are thrilled to have Nina and her new venture as our partner in building a community of gifted storytellers and drawing the right investors towards these carefully chosen projects. This track connecting filmmakers and investors is something we’ve been missing, and this effort aims to fill that gap. I am eager for the teams from IFFLA and Cinevesture to team up, and I can hardly wait to witness the outcomes of this one-of-a-kind, well-timed collaboration.
