A report suggested that Bethesda secretly added Digital Rights Management (DRM) to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle just days before its release. This claim arises from an update on the game’s SteamDB listing, which indicates DRM was recently added a short while ago. However, Bethesda has clarified that the retail version of the game does not contain DRM, and it was only included in review builds to prevent leakages.

Critics argue that the digital rights management system known as Denuvo negatively influences PC video games, supposedly leading to issues such as sluggishness and technical difficulties. However, Irdeto, the company behind Denuvo, has refuted these claims by trying to show that the software does not impact game performance.
Game developers have faced issues with the Digital Rights Management (DRM) system known as Denuvo, to the extent that some have decided to exclude it in the final versions of their games prior to launch. For instance, Starbreeze chose not to include Denuvo DRM in Payday 3 before its release a week ago. Additionally, Irdeto introduced a new anti-piracy software called TraceMark earlier this year.
Indiana Jones: The Great Circle will become available on December 6 for those who bought the premium edition, while everyone else can get it starting December 9. The game is initially released for PC and Xbox Series X|S platforms, with a PS5 release planned in Spring 2025.
