A cinema in Thailand is becoming popular online for replacing traditional seats with comfortable beds that can fit two to four people. They’re also offering free snacks and drinks to moviegoers in a comfortable lounge area.
Going to the movies can be expensive now. Between the price of tickets and snacks like popcorn, candy, and drinks, a simple trip for two people can easily cost over $50.
A Thai movie theater is becoming popular online for offering an incredibly comfortable and unique cinema experience, giving viewers extra value for their money.
Thailand theater trades reclining seats for massage beds
‘The Bed Cinema’ is a large movie theater in Bangkok, Thailand, and it’s teamed up with Omazz, a company that makes comfortable, eco-friendly, and allergy-safe mattresses and bedding.
For just $36, you can reserve a comfortable bed – complete with an Omazz mattress – to enjoy a movie at this cinema. Although that’s more expensive than a typical movie ticket, the extra cost includes some great benefits that might make it worthwhile.

As a huge fan of The Bed Cinema, one of the best things about going there is definitely the lounge! You get unlimited access, and it’s packed with free snacks and drinks. Seriously, you can leave your movie whenever you want to refill your popcorn or grab a drink – they have tons of popcorn flavors, both hot and cold drinks, dried fruit, and all sorts of goodies. It’s awesome!
The beds comfortably sleep two to four people and include convenient features like charging ports for your devices. You’ll also find cozy slippers, fluffy pillows, and a remote control to activate a built-in massage function in the mattress.
People online have responded to The Bed Cinema in different ways. Some are envious that it’s located in Thailand and requires travel, while others are concerned about hygiene and the possibility of encountering germs or bedbugs in the bedding.

“Americans could never be trusted with this in the States,” one user joked on Instagram.
“Cool, but the minute I see a teenage couple sit in the bed next to me, I’M OUT,” another wrote.
One audience member joked that a bed bug must have designed the theater, while another said they’d fall asleep immediately if they were inside.
So, I’ve been hearing about this new thing some theaters are trying, and it’s kinda wild. This cinema chain, Alamo Drafthouse, is letting people use their phones during the movie to order food and drinks. It’s getting a lot of attention online, and honestly, people are pretty divided about whether it’s a good idea or not. It’s definitely sparked a debate!
