It’s been a while since we’ve seen new content in the MonsterVerse, with the first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters airing in late 2023 and early 2024, followed by Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire in April 2024. While the next Godzilla x Kong movie, Supernova, isn’t due until 2027, the second season of Monarch will be here in 2026. But before that, exciting news: Lee Shaw, a main character from the Apple TV+ series, is getting his own spinoff show, and I’m really looking forward to it!
Apple TV+ announced a new series starring Wyatt Russell, who played a younger version of Lee Shaw in the original show. This spinoff will take place in 1984 and follow Shaw on a secret mission to stop the Soviet Union from deploying a devastating new weapon that could change the course of the Cold War and destroy the United States. Joby Harold, an executive producer on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, will lead the show as showrunner.
