Iconic McDonald’s breakfast item is finally coming to menus after 20 years

After over 20 years, a popular item from the McDonald’s breakfast menu is coming to the UK.

While McDonald’s is famous for its burgers, fries, and nuggets, menus vary quite a bit around the world. Some countries offer items you wouldn’t expect, like pizza, beer, and special desserts.

The breakfast options at McDonald’s are pretty similar worldwide. You’ll find McMuffins, pancakes, and muffins almost everywhere. The main difference is that, except in the United States, the McGriddle isn’t available in most countries.

Besides the United States, only Australia, Canada, Japan, Guatemala, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, and Hong Kong currently serve this dish. But that’s likely to change soon.

McGriddle finally coming to UK McDonald’s

Okay, so I saw a TikTok from NewFoodSpotterUK – they’re usually spot-on with these things – and apparently we’re finally getting the McGriddle in the UK starting February 3rd! I’ve been waiting ages for this, honestly.

The UK seems set to receive the classic McGriddle: bacon, a scrambled egg, and cheese served between two fluffy griddle pancakes.

Man, I’m seriously loving the McGriddle right now! Someone else said, and I totally agree, if McDonald’s can bring back the McGriddle, maybe they’ll finally bring back the bagel too. Fingers crossed!

People have noticed that McDonald’s UK usually serves round eggs on its breakfast items, and if they don’t make a change, the new McGriddle might end up looking just like existing menu options.

One employee said they were confused about what customers were trying to order, as the restaurant doesn’t serve McGriddles or the folded eggs used in them.

Since this is only available for a limited time, it’s unclear how long it will last. But if it proves popular, it might be offered again later.

Okay, so McDonald’s UK has been killing it lately with this ‘Secret Menu’ thing. I tried it, and honestly, it’s awesome – basically, they’re letting you combine a cheeseburger and a chicken burger into one mega-burger. It’s a simple idea, but it totally hits the spot!
