I Love Pretty Much All Of Lacey Chabert’s Hallmark Work, But Her Comment About ‘Cheating On Christmas’ Is Cracking Me Up

Lacey Chabert is known as the ‘Christmas Queen’ because she’s been in so many Hallmark holiday movies over the years. While Hallmark has lots of new Christmas films planned, her latest movie isn’t a Christmas one. And honestly, her playful comments about ‘cheating’ on Christmas are really funny, even though I love her Christmas movies!

In June, it was revealed that Candace Cameron Bure’s popular *Haul Out the Holly* movie series will take a spooky turn this year with *Haul Out the Halloween*. Wes Brown, Melissa Peterman, and Stephen Tobolowsky are all returning for the third film, and will be joined by *Halloweentown* stars Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz. This represents a shift for Bure, who has starred in over 40 films for the network, most of which have been Christmas-themed. The *Mean Girls* actress shared with People how she felt about tackling a different holiday.

I felt like I was cheating on Christmas. Our characters do too. But it was really so much fun.

It’s amusing that Alison Sweeney feels like she’s breaking tradition by starring in a Halloween movie, especially since she’s mostly known for her Christmas films on Hallmark. I understand why it felt strange, even though the movie is connected to her popular Christmas series. This actually makes me really hopeful for *Haul Out the Halloween* – if it does well, maybe we’ll see even more holiday movies from this series in the future!

While Lacey Chabert has starred in several Hallmark movies that aren’t Christmas-themed – like *The Wedding Veil* trilogy – a Halloween movie is something different. It’s great to see her try new things, and it sounds like she really enjoyed this project, especially because her close friend Autumn Reeser was also in it.

As Lacey Chabert’s new Halloween movie, *Haul Out the Halloween*, gets ready to debut, she recently shared which of her previous Hallmark roles she’d most like to revisit. She told Swooon in May that she’s always hoped to make another *All of My Heart* movie, but it never quite came together. While that didn’t happen, she’s still had the chance to star in ten movies with her co-star, Brennan Elliott, which is a great accomplishment.

Candace Cameron Bure has been a beloved face on Hallmark for 15 years, and it’s great to see her taking on new projects. While it’s unclear if she’ll expand beyond Christmas movies, her new film, *Haul Out the Halloween*, is perfect for getting into the Halloween spirit! It first aired on Saturday and will be shown again on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. You can also stream it on Hallmark+.
