„I have ways to do that, Keanu, contact me.” Cyberpunk 2077 universe creator gives hope that Johnny Silverhand may return in Cyberpunk 2

On October 30th, a special REDstreams broadcast showcased Mike Pondsmith, the mind behind the Cyberpunk world, and included a lot of exciting news and details.

Pondsmith shared that he has a concept for bringing Johnny Silverhand back into Cyberpunk 2. This follows Keanu Reeves’ earlier comments in September, where he indicated he’d be open to reprising his role as the iconic musician.

I recently heard Keanu Reeves is interested in reprising his role as Johnny, even if it means bringing the character back from the dead. I have ideas on how that could be achieved, and I’d like to get in touch with him about it.

Pondsmith hasn’t revealed exactly how Keanu Reeves’ character will return in Cyberpunk 2. It’s a challenge, since the character died in the game’s timeline a long time ago, and the different endings of Cyberpunk 2077 have made his situation even more complex. Still, Pondsmith seems to have a plan to make it work.

I’m really hoping we see even more big names pop up in Cyberpunk 2. Pondsmith was talking about Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba, and how awesome they were because they really got into their roles – they weren’t just acting, they became those characters, which made a huge difference. He’s definitely keen on seeing that commitment from other actors too.

So, you’ve cast Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba… and now you’re thinking about Scarlett Johansson? I actually have some roles in mind for her – she’s incredibly talented and could play anything.

Because Cyberpunk 2 is still in early development, the list of actors and actresses won’t be announced for a while.
