I Finally Watched The Fantastic Four: First Steps, And There’s One Scene I Wish Would’ve Been Left Out Of Trailers

Now that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is streaming on Disney+, I finally had a chance to watch it. I was one of the few at TopMob who hadn’t seen it in theaters, so I quickly added it to my list of 2025 movies viewed. I actually enjoyed the movie more than our official review suggests, although a spoiler did dampen my experience a bit.

This isn’t about wanting H.E.R.B.I.E. to become as popular as characters like Grogu or Baby Groot. It’s a warning to future Marvel films about how they present trailers and clips. Revealing too much footage, especially key plot points, can actually hurt a movie by spoiling the story and its rhythm.

I Wish The Press Conference Scene Would’ve Been Held Out Of Movies

Ever since the initial trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps came out, I’ve been thinking about the moment Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards tells a reporter he’s unsure if the world is safe. What I didn’t realize then was that this scene happens right in the middle of the movie and is actually a key turning point. It might sound strange considering everything else that happens, like Galactus arriving on Earth, but honestly, it’s one of the biggest spoilers I’ve seen in a Marvel trailer – ever.

The Best Part About The Movie Is The Dramatic Tonal Shift At The Midpoint

The press conference scene in The Fantastic Four: First Steps marks a big change in the movie’s overall mood. Up until that point, the film shows the superhero team easily handling every challenge, leading the public to believe they’re always capable of protecting everyone – there’s no question in anyone’s mind that they could ever fail.

More On The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Did anyone else find that scene with Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: First Steps surprisingly intense? It really caught me off guard, and I’d love to hear what others thought.

The movie starts off with a cheerful, optimistic tone, but that quickly changes when a villain emerges. This villain demands the Fantastic Four’s baby, Franklin, threatening to destroy the world if they don’t comply. As the situation escalates, public support for the Fantastic Four rapidly declines, with people becoming increasingly fearful for the planet’s fate.

The movie begins with a press conference, but knowing what happened in the trailer made the opening feel off-tone. I think the movie would have been more enjoyable if the trailers had focused on the lighter, funnier parts, maybe just teasing Galactus’s arrival. It’s a good film overall, but the trailer revealed too much and lessened my enjoyment.

Disney+ offers a wide range of entertainment, including Marvel, Star Wars, and shows like Dancing With The Stars. You can start streaming for as low as $11.99 per month with their ad-supported plan. For an ad-free experience, it’s $18.99 monthly, or you can save 16% by paying $189.99 for a full year. See the deal here.

You can now watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps on Disney+, and I highly recommend it – it’s one of the best Marvel movies I’ve seen in a while. I’m especially excited to see how the scene after the credits will lead into Doctor Doom’s major storyline in Avengers: Doomsday.
